2 /5 Quinten Calvert: Their website advertises 3.19% for an auto loan and the account manager confirmed this when we applied for the loan. However, the next day they phoned us and we were told we had a not-so-good credit rating, which was a shock because we thought our rating was much higher. We were also told because we had just paid off our home mortgage as well, our interest rate would be higher. One would think that being debt free would be a good thing but apparently not to Genesee Valley. Because of these factors, they could not give us the 3.19% rate as we were led to believe but instead only qualified for 6.29%. So we went to another credit union. But the biggest reason we are giving Genesee Valley only 2 stars is because we learned from the second credit union that our credit score was not so bad after all. When it was checked again, it was more than 100 points higher! Basically, Genesee Valley lied to us in order to justify doubling the interest rate. This is very bad way to do business.
