2 /5 Rachel Rosales: What a disappointing first experience purchasing condo homeowners insurance. The broker, Grace, while very pleasant was slow to respond, slow to provide a quote, and lacked thorough communication, and completely disappeared on me.
On Monday morning, I left a message in the companys voicemail box. I did not get a response.
So on Tuesday end of day, I called again and was connected to Grace who said she "meant to call me". We discussed my insurance needs, and she said shed get some quotes to by the end of the next day, Wednesday. On Wednesday, I received nothing, neither a quote nor an update.
On Thursday afternoon, I again called Grace after still hearing nothing. She apologized and said she would have something to me by end of day. Thursday night, a emailed Grace after reviewing the quote and said we changed our criteria as we were concerned about the premium cost. On Friday, Grace was out of office but did respond to my email to say she could get back to us with another quote on Monday. I emailed her to thank her for being flexible and confirming we connect on Monday.
On Monday, I reconfirmed with Grace that we should reconnect as she had said.
Grace never did respond to my last two emails from the Friday and the Monday. She has gone radio silent. Were now a WEEK into trying to get simple homeowners condo insurance, and I have nothing to show for it.
I switched brokers and got a quote, a binder and an invoice within an hour.
I have a huge community of friends in the city, many coming into the stage of buying homes and insurance. Because of this experience, I will not be recommending HUB.
