Preaches as if there was a crowd of a thousand in the room. This church provides those who are lost spiritually with what they have been missing in their lives. Virginia Mastando A welcoming place of worship for all ages and all walks of life. Set on a picturesque rural landscape with ample parking, gorgeous landscaping. Friendly people; small community that always welcomes newcomers with open arms. Two small congregations meet here. English speaking worship services ( Sacrament Meeting, or what the Latter Day Saint’s call Mass ) are held at 10:00-11:00 am, followed by Sunday Schools ( on the first and third Sundays of the month; but every Sunday for kids): one class each for adults, for teens, and for children ages 3-11. A free Nursery is available for babies and toddlers with supervision by a couple parents for this hour. At 1:00 pm the Spanish speaking services begin with the same schedule. Activities include an annual July picnic (open to the public), a community service project TBD each year, and Christmas Dinner Party with a visit from Santa Clause. Every other Tuesdays 7:00- 8:30 pm teens fellowship in a co- ed setting at youth ministry activities, service projects, sports, or arts with a spiritual message. Children’s ministries revolve around learning songs together, arts and crafts, and stories led by parent volunteers who have been vetted, interviewed, trained for child safety issues & asked to serve the youngest congregants. All children ages 3-11 are welcome, regardless the religious affiliations of their parents, provided at least one parent or nanny is in the building during their child’s class time. Marsha Cruz Love the church family here. Pastor Jerry bends the word of God with an upbeat twist. He incorporates the history of the bible with the modern world we live in today. Kristen sings the words of love for the Lord in every song. They also have a kids klub that my boys enjoy going to. So if you are looking for a great place to worship the Lord I would definitely say its here.

Michael Chivelly My favorite church in Riverhead. I enjoy Mass. Friendly people. The Deacon is very good too. I attended a wake, he was very personal with the children and family.

Maria Isabel Maldonado This parish is absolutely gorgeous...it has a white stone altar...stained glass windows with different saints...the way of the cross images are big and impressive...the choir sings in tbe upper level in the back..the images of Our Lord and Our Lady on the sides of the altar are beautifully decorated with flowers and candles...the pews are really comfortable to get through even when other people are seating...they have an enclosed area for crying children so that parents feel at easy they are not bothering anybody else....the restrooms were very cleaned and stocked...the latin tridentine mass on Sundays is gorgeous and is the reason for me to drive half an hour....very private confessionals....beautiful big yard and very friendly priests...

Cynthia P Driving by outside, I definitely want to visit this church… even from the outside, you see what these folks are about… Christianity is not a means to an end for them… they are living the gospel and speak up when they see injustice and are unafraid.. they don’t just stand by and turn a blind eye… they reflect Jesus in this way, because Jesus was in fact woke i.e flipping tables.

William Hyer I first attended in 1992 when Pastor Donna Schaper was at the helm. We were very involved in the community including helping at the soup kitchen. My specialty was chili, Italian-style. Ed Tuccio was supportive of the work we were doing which led to Vision 2020; what could Riverhead become (now a year away)? Downtown Riverhead was becoming a ghost town with high crime. We thought we could revitalize this part of town with a new dock on the river, better lighting to walk the sidewalks at night without fear of being mugged. We wanted restaurants on the river. When Swezeys Department Store left there was a decline that needed to be corrected. All of the revitalization efforts were spearheaded when the business community joined hands with Donna, Ed Tuccio, and those of us on the Board who shared this vision. The big challenge today is reaching out to the community who go to Tanger Outlets instead of honoring God on Sundays. This is a fine opportunity for First Congregational to increase their outreach beyond the thrift store and soup kitchen. I am glad they did not close up shop like so many downtown churches all around our country.
