Dawn Sanchez I first used Susan Gross’s services in 2020 for a deed transfer and was very satisfied, so I chose to hire her again for forming my PLLC.
On April 12, 2024, I spoke with Ms. Gross about forming my PLLC. She sent me the bill, which I paid by check sent to her Monticello office; the check was cashed on April 24, 2024. On May 6, 2024, I received a worksheet requesting standard information including business name options, registered agent, address, and profession. I completed and returned this on May 13, 2024, and Ms. Gross acknowledged receipt.
My first follow-up email was on June 27, 2024, asking about the timeline and if my business names were accepted. On July 1, 2024, I was told “we will follow up today.” On July 2, she responded saying she couldn’t provide a timeframe but that the PLLC was submitted for approval and name conflicts were being checked, noting “it’s only been 6 weeks so far.”
I followed up again on October 10, 2024, and was told the state was still reviewing. On December 3, 2024, I asked for updates on progress, check status, and which business name was presented. On December 5, she clarified the state does not cash the check—it is processed by a filing service using her credit card—and said we were waiting on Department of Education approval.
I inquired again on March 7, 2025, and was told they were still waiting on the Department of Education but would follow up. My latest follow-up was on May 23, 2025, and I am still awaiting a response.
It has now been over a year since starting this process. I understand PLLC formation can take time, but colleagues in my field who filed on their own received approval within 3-4 months. I understand the filing can be complex, I hired Ms. Gross to reduce risk and ensure proper registration. The prolonged delay and limited updates have been frustrating.
I would like a clearer understanding of exactly where my PLLC formation stands in the process so I can decide whether to pick up where they left off and request a refund for a portion of the retainer—or request a full refund of the retainer if no work has been done and start the process on my own.
I appreciate Ms. Gross’s initial professionalism but hope this feedback is helpful for others considering her services.

Guillaume Delmas Had hired her for the purchase of my house 2 years ago. I had to let her go and change lawyer because after a month she had no even done anything with the closing contract. She was useless, arrogant and incompetent.Be very careful before signing a retainer with her .This is how she makes her money.
