5 /5 Evergrey Lokadottr: You would think that good Italian food would be easy for find around here, but this is not always the case! Ambassador, however, really hit the spot for us. We ended up here on accident, but were SO glad we did. The atmosphere is quite nice, relaxing and romantic. The wait staff are wonderful, (the young man who was taking his role of unofficial host was a sweetheart as well,) and its just a pleasant dining experience all around.
I had a glass of cabernet for $9. It was worth it- excellent wine, and plenty of it. No regrets there!
For an appetizer, we got the Ambassador Greens. Its Utica. You have to try the greens and the riggies, right? Well, these were some of the best weve had. I love Utica greens, and my partner does not, but these? he had almost the entire plate by himself!
I got to taste the steak park of his filet riggies, which he very much enjoyed.
I got the haddock Alaska. Now, Im very particular with my seafood. My first preference for it is raw, but if Im going to have it cooked, it had best not be overcooked. Im pleased to say that my dish was cooked well- still tender and juicy! Be warned- it only comes with one shrimp and two small scallops, but theyre tasty. The fish filet was a good size, and cooked properly. The SAUCE, though! Ive been disappointed with a lot of cream sauces here in CNY, but they REALLY did this sherry-cream sauce justice. Its delightful. Balanced, and not at all bland.
We will be back!
