5 /5 M. Buckler: Clare and Carls is a must if youre in the Plattsburgh area! The food is tasty, the prices are right, and the vibe is pure nostalgia! How often do you eat in a restaurant that its back end is sinking into the ground? We saw people with trays attached to their car doors eating their food that way, and others eating at picnic tables, but we recommend eating inside so you can properly soak up the quirky ambiance. Go get yourself a Michigan and some poutine. Yum!!

5 /5 Thomas Darby: Funky old building, real carhops, and the best darn Michigan sauce on hot dogs I ever ate! Seriously, they should bottle that up and sell it. I stopped by yesterday (August 12) and it started raining, and the carhops just kept going! I come through Plattsburgh a few times a year, and Im putting this place on my must-stop list! Update on July 23rd 2025. Everything has gotten very expensive. A Michigan dog plus a Pepsi and onion rings cost me almost $20. They taste very good but Im not sure its worth that much. EDIT: There was a response from the Owner which included the email address. But the owner has not responded to my emails.

5 /5 Joel Bergeron: Simple menu, good quality, fair prices. It doesnt have to be complicated to get the job done. Going here is like taking a 80-year step back in time. An old building where you have to duck down to get through the small door. Horse-shoe indoor counter, or outdoor picnic tables with umbrellas. They have car hop or table service. Seasonal location but will certainly go back. Thank you!

5 /5 Wanderer: Staff was super great and under standing. The Michigan is where its at... A lil spice but super tasty... The poutine was amazing and the tenders were crunchy and perfectly golden. If ever you wanna stop somewhere for lunch and are in the area its super worth it. Price was on point and the wait was short but not to crowded.

5 /5 Jodie-Lynn McMullen: I have been craving a good hot dog for a while and man did this place not disappoint. Small menu means they know what they are doing! We tried the Michigan and Chicago... Sooooo good (especially the Michigan!) Cash only, small eating space outside and inside as well. The perfect place to stop after a day at the beach! All the people working were very friendly, great service!
