5 /5 John Pulos: I am a longtime restaurant owner and always appreciate creative food and outstanding service. I was treated to that recently at Elderberry Pond. The old farmhouse is beautifully decorated. We (my adult daughter and I) were shown to our table by (I think) the owner where our friends were waiting. Michelle was our waitress, and I knew that it would be an outstanding evening by her greeting to us and by her presentation of the nightly specials. She listed and explained the long list as if she was reading from a prompter. It was all very impressive. She was/is very impressive! I had one of the specials - lobster ravioli. The sauce was outstanding, and the ravioli were topped with lobster, still in their shells - again very impressive. My daughter had crab cakes (which she said were almost as good as mine) and one of our friends had the special rib eye that fell off the plate. The mark of a good (fine dining) restaurant is when dirty dishes are immediately removed, and water glasses are always filled. That was the case here, and the restaurant was busy. The Skaneateles area is known for several world class restaurants - Elderberry Pond is certainly on that list.
