Main Street Restaurant - Newark (NY)

3 /5 Shawn Surma: Be careful with going on just the reviews and pictures. The food was ok but the menu was not as full as these pictures showed. My French Onion Soup was pretty good and not at all salty which I love. The tea was served in a bottle. The appetizer was the munchies for two. We got sweet potato fries instead of regular and other than the potato skins being a little bit greasy everything was good. The service was ok but they were doing paint and sip.

5 /5 Judy Bourgeois: First time visiting for me. Tom the owner came out to say hi introducing himself and Tonya the waitress who was really nice. She made some good suggestions for food. I had pork tips appetizer with sauces and a generous serving of sweet potato fries. It was delicious. They were so friendly. I was there on a quiet evening, Wednesday.

5 /5 Gary Wurstner: Great restaurant in the middle of Newark. This was our first visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The interior is split into a main dining room in back and bar in front with the kitchen in between. My fish sandwich was very good, on a nice soft bun with lettuce, tomatoes and raw onions. The better halfs julienne salad was big enough for two, with more toppings than lettuce. Their Italian Wedding Soup was tasty, but a bit too salty for her taste. The Shrimp Bisque was delicious.

1 /5 Michael: It was quite a disappointment. The prime rib was salty. The NY strip had too much charring and the mushrooms and onions on the strip were quite charred (burnt) as well. Ordered medium, but it came to us medium-rare. The steamed broccoli was raw. Definitely not the same cook that was there in April. The wait to pay and get change was worse than the light at Union and Main. Back in April... Great casual dining experience. Staff, excellent. NY strip, outstanding. Ribeye, was delicious. Very unlikely that youd be disappointed. THAT was back in April. What a difference just a few months made! My rating has changed from 4 stars to 1.

4 /5 cathy oconnor: A very special Thank You to Main Street for helping out with our family member passing they gave us a buffet style dinner and a warm and friendly inviroment. The Staff was excellent on having the room set up and ready for our arrival as we came earlier then planed. The food was very good as our guest gave there aprovial on the good food and staff we could not be more pleased with them. I Recommend Main Street for Buffet style DINNERS . Its simple just call set up you apt. Pick out dinner and they do the rest . Show up and enjoy your event.
