4 /5 Food Beasties: Solid choice for a casual dinner:
The birria tacos, ironically, were the least loved of the dishes we ordered, but still pretty good- For tacos, a better place may be El Charro or La Capital Tacos
The warm churros were a delicious way to end a meal. Tres leches cake was also pretty good, and probably average for the area.
For those who dont shy away from non-conventional foods-- the Menudo is a must-try. Available only Friday-Monday: The stew is perfectly slow cooked with incredible, deep flavor-- I think this might be one of the best dishes you can order near Albany (that is, if you enjoy a good tripe and hock meal). The serving was generous and filling, and tasted like it was simmered for days and lovingly ladled into a bowl by your Mexican grandmother. It is absolutely worth a 5+ star on its own.
This is our first meal at Sabroso and the review reflects first impressions: Sabroso seems to be an OK place to get relatively common standard Mexican-American food, but the less common choices may be what they are super good at.
