South City Pub & Grill - Binghamton (NY)

5 /5 Tim Feyerabend: Good food, decent atmosphere. The chairs were comfortable. Our waitress was very good and attentive. I had a burban BBQ burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were great! They dont sell the mozzarella sticks that were on the menu anymore, so we got chicken tenders instead they were also really good! We both tried the wings, and they were good. Overall, its a nice little casual spot.

5 /5 Mary Naughton: This is a lovely unassuming place. The outside gives away nothing to the inside which is a really comfortable nice and cozy space with nice club chairs. There’s a bar upon entry but there’s table seating just to the left. The table seating is very nice and has a comfortable space for women to sit and dine not an overly rambunctious crowd. The food was good and they have a nice variety. I had the Bearcat Burger it was just what I needed in the moment.

5 /5 Bob Hansen: Been here several times now and tend to order something from the specials list. This dish was just as good as every other Ive had. Lots of garlic! Recommend this place if youre in Binghamton area, so dont pass it up. One of my favorites, give it a try! ... I almost ordered the mahi....

5 /5 Jenna: Another update to this iconic Southside spot, and we loved it. The food was excellent. We got the gouda fondue bread bowl to start, which was a smokey and ooey gooey delight. Hubs had a cheesesteak, which he thought was very good. I had the sweet chili boneless wings, which were great - no spice but a good hint of tang with the sweet. We both liked the larger craft beer offerings as well. The service was outstanding - our server Erin was running bar AND dining room and did an amazing job. As far as the atmosphere goes, the vibes felt similar, but there were some style / interior updates done. The best update, in my opinion, was taking off those floor to ceiling (clunky, dated, and weird) saloon style doors at the entrance! They were atrocious accessibility wise. It is nice to see them finally come down to make the entrance more accessible for all patrons.

4 /5 Joe: South City Pub and Grill serves up great food, so long as you are not ordering carryout. We have visited South City Pub and Grill a number of times since they went under new management, and I can confidently say the dine-in experience has been great every time! Our visits are typically on weekend evenings between 5 and 9 pm. Surprisingly, we have not experienced a busy establishment on any of our visits. We have ordered a number of offerings off of South Citys menu and have found pretty much every item we have tried to be very good, from burgers to appetizers, special offerings for restaurant week, and the glorious South City Chicken Sandwich, which has easily become my favorite grilled chicken sandwich offering at any restaurant to date. Service has always been stellar on our Dine-in evenings. We typically sit at the bar and the bartenders are always attentive to our needs, and not hesitant to stir up a conversation. Unfortunately, although our dine in experience has always been great I feel it necessary to bring up concerns regarding their takeout capabilities. All reports I have heard regarding takeout from South City Pub and Grill are very lackluster experiences, ranging from orders being wrong or missed and not even started upon arrival, to very dry and overcooked food. Nearly all of these reports come from folks that I know are ordering during the day, so perhaps this has something to do with the morning/afternoon shift staff, but this is pure speculation on my part. Overall, my personal experiences with South City Pub and Grill have made for great nights out and I rate this establishment based on that. Do yourself a favor and give that South City Chicken Sandwich a try, you wont regret it!
