5 /5 iMacOfDeath: Order up, the old fashioned way.
And by that I mean you tell the lady at the counter what you want, and shell yell it out to the kitchen to get made. How exciting.
I myself went with an order of the Big Teds Seafood Platter and an order of the Calamari, which initially I was not going to get, but was recommended it by a friend of the family who knows I love good calamari. Altogether coming to a bit over $30, a reasonable price for what you get. Though the size of the calamari, was not worth the nearly $8 price tag.
Got everything back home, after just a handful of minutes waiting for the food to be made, super fast service! The fish was the clear breadwinner, lots of flavor, good thickness, a very clean fried texture. Very good. The shrimp was also banging, though I cleared through both in two bites. The scallops were alright, plenty big, but something about their flavor was off. The clam strips were ok, but they cooled down faster than anything else resulting in very gummy consistency. Not pleasant. The fries suffered the same cooling rate, meaning cold, floppy, sad chips. And that calamari, average at best. Not sure what that family friend was on about, but Ive honestly had better from Chinese buffets. Needs more tentacles and a longer fry time, as I found several pieces were still doughy in the center of the ring. Yucky.
Overall, fast and unique service, firm handed prices, and a recommendation to stick to the fish fry.
