1 /5 Alessandra: While the ambiance and service of this restaurant (I have not stayed there) are lovely, I was very disappointed as a plant based person to not be able to really enjoy a group dinner there - despite calling ahead and mentioning we had a plant based person in our group and the restaurant noting that in the reservation - however when we sat, the server had no idea.
When part of their mission on the website is, “Not just farmers in name, we believe in supporting farmers and producers who share in our passion of growing and preparing the finest products imaginable,” with the ABUNDANCE of seasonal amazing produce that is available in the Hudson valley (yes i know it’s the winter but still there are local plants / grains available) I was extremely disappointed to only be able to eat these items: French fries, some frisée lettuce with oil/vinegar, bread, or roasted potatoes (which was what I ended up getting.)
You don’t need to have a full plant based menu to have ONE or two plant forward options - it’s 2025, though I know we are a small portion of the overall population there is often one of us in a group and it would have been nice to enjoy a main dish that was plant-celebratory (again, not asking them to be a vegan restaurant) but I think they should change their mission to say they’re celebrating local farmers and produce that only feature animal products.
Anyway, if you’re plant based - don’t come here. this place is not welcoming to us, despite the pleasant staff and warm ambiance.
