Rob Robinson I cannot say enough good things for the tremendous service we received today from James and Auto Specialist Repair. He was upfront on the condition of our vehicle, what was needed to fix it, and actually went above and beyond what we would have expected for this repair. To make a long story short, we were just a few hours into a 12 hour trip home to Michigan from Massachusetts, and the wheel bearing went out in my sons explorer. Panic set in and we had to start playing the Google game to find a shop near by. I called and within three hours, James had us towed to his shop, wheel bearing replaced, and back on the road. Be greatful that there are decent small town auto repair shops, that treat you like they care, left in this day and age. Let alone, hundreds of miles from anyone that we knew. Support your local business, take care of the little guys, and they will take care of you. The good Lord was looking over us today. I wish their business continued success.

He drove to the nearest auto shop and the friendly mechanics at Zimmerman dropped what they doing and inspected his car and fixed a busted caliper and got him back on the road in no time. They knew he was anxious to get home and was far away from anyone he knew. They even called me to tell me that he was safely on his way. They really looked after him and I couldnt be more grateful. AMAZING PEOPLE. AMAZING WORK.

Example Account Terrible customer service in addition to a misdiagnosis or a bad part. I would never recommend this business and I really suggest taking your vehicle elsewhere. We had to get towed to the place on a Sunday night and called Monday morning to discuss the vehicle. We anticipated a diagnosis on Wednesday based on that conversation but patiently waited until Friday to hear back from them. They ordered the part and fixed it on Tuesday. We really didn’t have a problem with waiting but being from out of town we missed a week and a half of work. Now it’s 1 week and 2 days later and we are broke down AGAIN! Same issue… Either the part they got was bad (and we are going to have to go through warranty work with out of state complications) or they misdiagnosed. A transfer case was replaced but it might have been the actuator all along. I just wish they cared about the inconvenience this has been and they attempted to understand/explain the warranty they sold us.

Natalie Powers These guys are awesome! They really care about their customers! I had a battery and alternator problem and come to find out I had a broken wire on the wiring harness. They helped me out because I literally ran out of money and they only charged me for the part and no labor. They even brought me home so I wouldn’t have to wait 3 hours and they came back to get me when my vehicle was fixed! If you’re open and honest with them they will go the extra mile! JoToGo will be my only mechanic shop! Way to go fellas! Thank you so very much!

Sexy Murda BUYER BEWARE!!! Do not buy a vehicle from these people. Believe ALL the reviews you see here! They sold me a lemon transmission went within 31 days. When you call, the daughter is extremely rude and bad for business, demanding I bring the car for repairs and a tow that I would need to cover. They overcharged for the down at $2,500 because they KNEW the car would break down so they could profit. Policy is 10 days no payment automatic repo. I’m not paying another dime for this garbage that I have to add a gallon of transmission fluid to just to drive 10 miles before it’s empty. They want you to bring it to them to repair so they can cover up the problem. I went to my own mechanic he said they were aware of the transmission and tried to quick fix it and that’s why it was pouring out transmission fluid. I have the paperwork. The entire transmission needs to be replaced. It’s a $1,200 job to repair that extensive leak. Went to another mechanic after to verify 1st mechanic and they both diagnosed the SAME thing. I explained to the daughter I had just had twins and one was in NICU and I needed a reliable car to get back and fourth to Rochester. She PROMISED me the car was good and I’d have no issues. She took advantage of a single mother in need of a good car and that is DISGUSTING. I had to take medical transport back and fourth for MONTHS, before saving for a new car. I called them THREE time to tell them to come and get their car off my property!!! No one answers my name on the caller ID. They want to FORCE customers to keep their vehicles so they can charge them additional! Good luck! That car hasn’t been registered or insured in OVER a month now. COME AND GET YOUR VEHICLE OFF MY PROPERTY. I’m not paying another dime! I put OVER $6,300 in that car with down, repairs, transmission fluid, and payments! They need to be SHUT DOWN! Watch the daughter get on here LYING! I see she does that on every review. She’s running that business into the ground! Anyone with a good review is fake review. Believe the low rated ones! My only regret is not looking at the Google reviews before going there! All I was thinking about was getting into a car for my baby’s needs fast! Biggest mistake was going there! There is no way this car passed inspection! They do the stickers themselves is the problem! Just huge scam artists! One mechanic literally refused to touch it due to liability and turned me away! That’s how bad off the car was! It’s a shame! Every dealer/mechanic around here knew about them! They said oh no! You got a car there?! That spoke VOLUMES!! RUN!!!!

Bryana Gibbs I have had the WORST experience with Johns Auto. To begin, they put a GPS tracker in my car without my knowledge or permission (it was not in my contract). A lawyer was contacted and in all 50 states it is ILLEGAL to use a GPS tracker in someones car without their knowledge and is considered stalking under NYS law. I would have never bought the car if I would have known they would be tracking me. When it was found the police were called and they stated they had never seen a tracker like the one this place of business used. No where on the tracker did it say “Johns Auto”. When I called his daughter then admitted that I had an ‘old’ contract and that it was put in my car when someone else was going to come buy it. The tracker should have been removed or I should have been given the ‘correct’ contract. When having this phone call Johns daughter was extremely rude and defensive. At the end of this phone call I told her that going forward (I would give my in-laws money to make my payment since I was unable to get there during their business hours) I was the only one to be communicated with about this car since I am the one on the contract and my bank will be sending checks monthly. Once the car was paid off Johns daughter gave my lien release paperwork to my mother In-law. When called to ask why I was not called about it I was again met with attitude and poor customer service. I have never raised my voice until the end of our last phone call because I was unable to get a word in since she was berating me about how rude I had been. I will never be buying another car or recommending this place to anyone. I have all the proof to back up my above claims, I will be submitting a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney Generals office.

Sam McDermott Took my Nissan 350z here for a clutch replacement. I supplied they shop with my own parts because I wanted to ensure quality. The car sat without being touched for 3 weeks before it was taken in, then another week or so for it to be worked on. I received little to no updates from the shop as to how my car was doing. So one day I show up and my car is outside with someone in it. Judging by how it didn’t drive before this seemed to be good news. Until the driver pressed on the clutch and it made a loud screeching sound. The owner Jon then told me to take it home and that it wasn’t his problem. I then find out that a new mechanic at his shop was put on the task of the clutch in my sports car. They say not only that my parts must be bad but also that a piece of my clutch didn’t come in so they just left it without being replaced. 15 miles later on my way to work that Monday, and my entire clutch stops working. The owner (Jon) still denying any responsibility. After taking my car to a real shop, I have been assured with a plethora of different examples, that the reason for my clutches failure was improper installation. The shop that is fixing his mistake found a broken bolt, piece of my engine block broken off, transmission wasn’t dropped, throw out bearing appears to have been forced on causing it to have dents. What was supposed to be a simple clutch job has now turned into an over a month without my car. Yet still I receiver nothing but insults and trouble from this business. I do not recommend him because he doesn’t stand by his work.

I got the oil change and the snow removed, one of the best experiences Ive had from a mechanic since moving to NY!

Elaine Hilliard Took my car in for a simple inspection while I went on vacation. When I came back, I ended up being over charged and the technician (Bill Twist) had ran into my back bumper. Unfortunately, I entrusted him to repair the damage and my trust very misplaced! The bumper now looks absolutely horrible (paint does not match and it does not line up with rest of the rear body panels). His billing practices are highly questionable and his bodywork skills are non existent. In addition, my name is Elaine Hilliard and I have all the paper work proving he over charged me and court depositions stating he wanted to charge me additional storage fees after the fact that he admitted in running into my back bumper & doing a lousy hack job in repairing it; no matter how Mr. Twist replies to this statement. Everything I stated is fact and true!

David Thompson My wife and I were passing through on our way to Niagara Falls. The inner wheel bearing on the left front failed. I tried a dozen shops but no one would take us until I called Chris at G&S Automotive. He was able to get us back on the road in an hour for our 1500 mile journey back to Kansas. Thank you so much Chris, we made it back without any other issues.
