5 /5 Ian Underwood: Everyone at Canandaigua Smiles is always so friendly and kind and we love coming here! It’s disappointing to see the negative reviews because we’ve only ever had great experiences with Dr Jake and his staff.

1 /5 Jessica Wright: My sons fillings have consistently fallen out- he has been back numerous times to have them refilled because they fall out weekly. The person who fills them and his assitant are extremely kind, however I was told by one of the receptionist (who is typically rude,) that they will no longer refill his fillings. Now my 4 year old cries of pain everytime I brush his teeth or he eats- my heart is broken for him and we can not find another dentist to take us. Please get a second opinion before your childs teeth are overworked on. We were told they should have never been worked on in the first place because fillings dont stay in those teeth well. Also consider finding a dentist who wouldnt want a child to be in pain.

1 /5 Railyn Eldridge: I’m extremely disappointed in how we have been treated since we indicated our inability to pay $1000 to have my daughter placed under anesthesia in office to have her care done. In June 2024, canandaigua smiles indicated that my daughter needed quite a bit of work and stated there would be a $250 deposit that insurance did not cover to hold her spot to go under anesthesia in the hospital. I put the deposit down in June and had yet to hear back as of recent so I scheduled for her to be seen bc she is in pain. At our appointment they indicated that they could do the work in office under anesthesia next month (Dec 2024) but there would be an additional $1000 charge not covered by insurance to have it done this way. Otherwise we would stay on the waiting list. I said I didn’t have the money and the lady kind of snickered and said “ok” and closed the folder indicating our financial options. I indicated that we could do it using laughing gas and under separate appointments so it would be covered and I was told the dentist refused to do it this way. I told them to refund the $250 deposit bc I would need to seek treatment elsewhere. I received a letter a few days later stating I had to find a new dentist for BOTH of my children. When I called to get paperwork faxed over to a new dentist and documentation in writing of the dentists refusal to treat my daughter I was again laughed at and refused this documentation. They are not transparent about what is covered at the beginning of treatment which makes getting the care needed difficult. The financial person is rude and pretentious.
