06-2025 Delaware Park in Top 15 Budget-Friendly Restaurants Near You in Buffalo, NYAquarium of Niagara - Niagara Falls Ashley Loomis: My 13 year old daughter has been obsessed with seals. I did a Google search for where we could do a seal encounter and came across the Niagara Falls Aquarium, which is about three hours away from us. It was extremely affordable for admission into the aquarium plus for the seal encounter was affordable as well. We bought admission, seal encounter and parking in advance online, very simple and user friendly. I had a question regarding the seal encounter before booking and they responded to my email almost immediately.
The aquarium itself is small, but very nice and all the exhibits were very clean. The gift shop was also affordable. All staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The seal encounter was fun and something my daughter will always remember. She was in her glory with the seals.we fed them fish, touched them and had them doing tricks. I would highly recommend this aquarium. Be sure to plan your day around the presentations they offer, the sea lion presentation is incredible.
The Buffalo Zoo - Buffalo Lewis Kimmel: Absolutely wonderful place to take your family if youre in the area its a great sized zoo I really appreciate the layout of the zoo it allows you to experience each section of the zoo without having to go all over the place looking for specific animals there is a food court area to stop and get a good bite to eat if there was one critique it was unfortunate that some of the animals were unavailable to see due to cleaning enclosures but it does happen would definitely recommend going here
Freedom Park - Buffalo Prosun Roy: If you are Buffalo and a Tourist or a Fishing buff or a History student you couldnt miss this place. Located next to the Peace Bridge, approachable by road from I190, is this beautiful park on the Unity island. It can be your perfect Spot to capture the Niagara river or the Peace Bridge. Or just enjoy your Fishing hobby in company of other fishing enthusiasts. Or else soak in the historic significance of the "Underground Railway" movement of freedom seeking slaves of the 19th Century, as this was the jetty for the Black Rock ferry.
Shark Girl - Virginia Wilson: I love shark girl she is perfect!!!
Buffalo AKG Art Museum - Buffalo Lisa G: I recently visited the newly expanded Buffalo AKG for the first time in years, and it was such a joy to return! The renovations are stunning — the new spaces are bright, modern, and incredibly welcoming. I was thrilled to see so many of my old favorites still on display, though I was a little sad to see that the iconic "Mirrored Room" is no longer part of the collection. It was such a unique and immersive experience.
That said, theres so much to explore, and the new additions more than make up for it. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here — it’s easy to lose yourself in the art. And if you need a break, the Wilson Town Hall atrium is a gorgeous place to relax, grab a bite, and soak in the architecture. Highly recommend a visit!
Iron Island Museum - Buffalo Heather Lundquist: Marge and her wonderful volunteers are just so knowledgeable and kind. I had an excellent experience last night on a guided tour! I was the only one there so it felt special! The museum is beautiful, the Halloween decorations were up, and it was brilliant! Definitely going back many times to this haunted history gem!
Hoyt Lake - Buffalo Laura L. Wootton: This is one of my favorite local Buffalo spots. It has a one-mile path around the lake. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a walk, a run, and it’s a really nice spot to watch the sunrise.
Buffalo Heritage Carousel - Buffalo Ken Barnes: I was introduced to Buffalo Heritage Carousel during a Canalside tour. Not only is it a great place to stop by for a quick ride, but the building can be booked for small to medium events. I recently hosted an event at the Carousel (30-35 people, no kids) and everybody had a great time. Linda and the entire staff were wonderful and super easy to work with. Of course, its a no-brainer for a childs birthday party or something similar, but dont limit the Heritage Carousel to the kids, ALL ages will have a good time there.
Niagara Falls Observation Tower - Niagara Falls Shri Vhanna: Niagara Falls State Park is where nature roars and dreams mist the air.
From the Maid of the Mist to winding scenic trails, every step stirs wonder.
Well-kept, welcoming, and timeless — perfect for all souls who seek beauty.
An unforgettable dance of water and sky — truly a must-see.
Explore & More - The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Childrens Museum - Buffalo Yelena Panasyuk: Fantastic Kids Museum with Tons of Activities and Delicious Food Samples!
We had an amazing time at this kids museum! It’s a perfect place for children to explore, learn, and have fun. There are so many hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and creative play areas that keep kids engaged for hours. Everything is designed with little ones in mind, making it both educational and exciting.
One of the highlights was the variety of vendors offering food samples! It was a great way to try different treats while enjoying the museum. The staff was friendly, and the space was clean and well-organized. Whether your child loves science, art, or pretend play, there’s something for everyone.
Highly recommend for families looking for a fun and enriching experience.
