I did the captains course, and I will say for an easier one, it was pretty challenging. If you dont want to feel rushed, I heavily recommend coming around opening when it is less busy. Also, $13 a person was a great deal for 18 fun holes.
I love NY Sign - Queensbury Alicia Vaillancourt: The security lady yelled at us for no reason
When it was time to take a group photo she came to yelled at us like 2 times bc first we didn’t know about the sign we saw it and got a ff quickly and then she came to well and second time bc without doing it on purpose we step on the flowers and she yelled no respect honestly when I was about to go on the zip line she said no STANDING like 2 times I was like but I’m going to sit before doing it, she just chipped and sight and left like whatever
She’s too much but otherwise great place
Adirondack Zombie Hunters LLC - Queensbury Annie Brickey: This was well worth the cost. We thought we signed up to play a video game but ended up getting a whole lesson in pistol handling and shooting. I’d absolutely recommend this for anyone of any ability. To say the staff was knowledgeable would be a huge understatement. It was a really great family experience and if we are ever in the area again it will be on our must do list. The stuff really took the time to make sure each and everyone of us was having a good time and were comfortable playing the game.
Coles Woods - Queensbury Roonie Toonie: Local legends says Bigfoot was spotted multiple times in these woods behind aviation mall. The elusive, prehistoric creature is said to frequent portions of upstate NY, and this location called “Coles Woods” is one of the hot spots of sightings..
I came here on a 30 day expedition to look for Bigfoot in upstate NY, or any traces of the elusive creature. Full of expectation and excitement, I arrived at the entrance of coles woods with my backpack, flashlight, binoculars, and heat sensing goggles. It was cold and the air was crisp, the perfect weather for Bigfoot, as he loves the crisp air.
I started my hike after a small lunch at aviation mall, and sought out big foot. It was near evening, when bigfoot is most active. I trekked the frequently traveled trails, and the night grew and darkness was setting in.
I heard a crackle in the woods behind me, and I looked quick with astonishment, but only to see it was 4 chipmunks chasing one another around along the stump of an old tree. So I kept looking..
I saw squirrels, chipmunks, a deer, and birds while on my expedition. But no Bigfoot. After 15 minutes of looking, I left the woods and went to the nearby Starbucks for a maple pecan latte. I was defeated. Local legend could be wrong, Bigfoot is not in these woods. Or he was just hiding on this cold, crisp and eerie fall day.
Good spot for a walk.
Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark - Queensbury annemarie jarcho: We recently spent the night at the Great Escape Lodge and I wanted to share some candid thoughts.
First, the positives. The waterpark was great for kids under 12 and small enough that they could roam yet still be within sight. The waterpark was clean, very safe and overall a positive experience. The staff and lifeguards were great and it felt very safe and was a lot of fun. The dining options were also pretty good, especially the newer restaurant downstairs. The location is great as well.
We spent the night here and the hotel itself needs A LOT of work. We stayed in the cabin bunk suite which again, appealed to the kids, but was in very bad shape. The carpets, though updated, were very stained and dirty, the lamps were dusty, the bedding and mattresses tired, the furniture extremely old and filthy and the curtains very outdated. It appears that they have done some renovations as the bathroom was in good shape and clean, but the rest of the room felt like it was 30 years old. I would not stay here again. The cleanliness of the room left something to be desired that is for sure.
Overall, my kids had a lot of fun, but the rooms really need some work. This place has a lot of potential with its ideal location and waterpark, but the hotel ownership group really needs to invest in their property.
Steamin’ Demon - Queensbury Just a little skelly boy 2: This ride has lots of potential but the bumpiness’s ruins it. I rode it in 2015 for my first time, then it was a enjoyable and thrilling ride but after 2018 it’s just a mess of bumps. I would give this ride a 4 star review if it was not so bumpy. Would be amazing if they retracked the corcscrew or gave it harness restraints.
West Mountain - Queensbury B G: Awesome spot for families and beginners!
West Mountain is perfect for snow tubing and learning to ski. The tubing lanes are fast and fun, and the magic carpet makes it super easy to keep going. The beginner ski slopes were wide and not intimidating. Great experience all around!

House of Frankenstein Wax Museum - Lake George Ryan Mazierski: The House of Frankenstein Wax Museum is a one of a kind wax museum in Lake George, NY. The museum has many different wax exhibits ranging from horror movies, sci-fi movies, classic literary tales, mythical monsters, and horrifying historical periods. The museum also adds in some interesting and scary optical illusion displays.
Upon entering the wax museum you will notice a few wax figures like Frankenstein displayed in the lobby. There is a sign stating there are no refunds and parents should use good judgement as to whether the museum is appropriate for kids.
After you go in the main door you walk around in dark hallways, in what feels like a labyrinth. Throughout the darkened halls you will see different wax displays. As you walk around different displays will sometimes move or pop out at you, but you will not get hit by anything. A few of the displays have buttons that make the displays come to life. Some of the displays might even frighten you. Near the end you will walk through a spinning star like display that is totally fun, but could make you dizzy.
While many wax museums have interesting exhibits, this one is the most unique for the thrills and chills it adds to seeing the exhibits. It is an interesting and fun way to present the exhibits. The museum is not for the easily frightened or young kids. Check the museum’s website for hours. Tickets are available at the entrance. If you’re visiting Lake George this is definitely a great place to visit.
