5 /5 Larry Stanley: I’ve had a variety of outpatient procedures at Ira (even an inpatient one, when they still did that); I was taken by ambulance several years ago for an emergency; it’s where I prefer to have blood work and x-rays, when needed; and I appreciate the convenience of being able to see specialists in the “clinic” setting - something I do more of lately.
Do I sometimes have to wait a bit for the lab or x-ray? Sure, but everywhere is short-staffed these days.
The staff that works at Ira has always been pleasant, professional, and as efficient as circumstances allow.
Bath is the county seat, and the centrally-located Bath community should have a facility that is on par with the ones that are thirty miles distant; however, I am grateful for the services that are available here, and thankful that the management is keeping it open.
I will add that I have no connection to any one on the staff, neither friends, relatives, or neighbors, of which I’m aware - just a local who has used the services.
It would be a tragedy for the community if Ira Davenport Hospital were ever to close.
