Nancy: I recently moved to the area and was excited to see Plattsburgh had an art museum but, unfortunately when I visited it turned out to be a disappointment. The museum website led me to believe that it was open year round which, it isnt. Located on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus, we walked into a dimly lit entryway with no clear signage or someone to greet us so, we began to wonder. Eventually someone arrived to open the door to the sculpture area on the 2nd floor. When I asked about the art shown on the website she said that they only display during the school year. I hope to return in the fall.

Wayne Dionne: Beautiful memorial and park. The obelisk has four sculpted panels that are beautiful. Would have been nice to take in the eclipse from atop this monument.

Theresa St. John: 4 star only because they were closed so I cant review inside. Grounds were beautifully kept, some historical information outside. Gorgeous gardens and the home looks like it was something else in its heyday. Upkeep looks like people care about the history and culture there. I want to get back up there and see the artifacts.

Oluwafemi Ifesanmi: I had a wonderful experience at the city beach. Although this season had wooly seeds flying about which did get into the hair of the head and messed up the water. Overall, it was a fun place to be

Tony Porcelli: When i visit this town sometimes will stand in front of mural for hours and just ponder. This mural is something quite special.

Y Davis: First time staying at this campground. Beautiful campground and clean! We didnt get a waterfront site but from where we were, we had some views of the lake(in between campers lol). The sites have no privacy between them so if youre looking for secluded sites with no one around then this campground is not for you. The bathrooms and showers are newer and clean. Kuddos to the staff there for keeping the campground clean! We went the day after TS Debby, the staff were hard at work picking up down branches. Well definitely be back!

Bruce K.: I stopped here on a late Sunday afternoon when there were no ballgames going on. I was pretty much alone to cook dinner in the sprinter van, carry it over to one of the picnic tables and enjoy it. After a bit, a father and daughter came over for motorcycle lessons which was interesting to watch. The park is in very good shape with no trash, the ball fields looked good and there was plenty of parking. There is also a public restroom here. The park is open dawn to dusk.

Bench along Terry Gordon Rec Trail - Plattsburgh
Brian C: This is a free public trail named in honor of Terry Gordon. I personally knew Terry since I helped him prepare to run his first marathon in 1977. He went on to become THE main organizer of the Plattsburgh Track & Cross Country Club, and organized numerous running races and fun-runs in the greater Plattsburgh area, including 5k walks/runs and the Champlain Valley Marathon from the US-Canadian border at Rouses Point to City Hall in Plattsburgh. Terry kindly donated a lot of his time and applied his organizational expertise to countless hours of planning and organizing so that others could enjoy competing and participating in races from 100 meter track events at SUNY Plattsburgh all the way up in distance to 5k’s, the 5 mile Bud Run on the SUNY XC course, the qualifier for the Diet Pepsi 10km national road racing championships, and half marathons and marathons. This location has a memorial to recognize his efforts as a contributing member of the community. He was also the Clinton County Clerk when I knew him. The trail is smooth, level asphalt that parallels the railroad and Lake Champlain and runs north & south behind (east of) the former Spur Air Force Base. The trail is excellent for walking, running, bicycling, roller-blading, or pushing a baby stroller, and has been used to host a local YMCA 5k running race and the Lake City Running Festival Half Marathon (May 2024). This beautiful linear park is between the privately-owned grassy areas of several condominiums to the west, and Lake Champlain and the railroad to the east. The grassy areas owned by the condo association members should be treated respectfully as the private property that they are.

Mike Ratliff: Attended the 1st Weinerfest Dachshund Day at the park. Everyone was so pleasant, no issues with dogs, especially since my two dauchsunds dont get to attend many social events. Its nice to see other dauchsunds are vocal too!
