I AM SO HAPPY I found this place! Maria is great! She’s welcoming and polite and an AMAZING hair stylist! I was looking for a good Dominican salon and I found an EXCELLENT one! — there’s also plenty of street parking that you can pay with the White Plains street parking app! I’ve gone 2x already and will continue to get my hair done here! Highly recommended!!!

5 /5 mary ames: Maria’s Excellent. I’ve been going here for over 20 yrs. I remember when Maria began her training back then @ Lisa’s. One thing about this salon. They will use great products, they will attend to your needs as for your hair (type, texture, breakage) whatever you require. This is not a salon that just want $. They will make you feel just as expensive as their prices. Good and worth it. Thanks Maria.

Caridad Garcia: Pricey for inexperienced hair coloring & hairstyling service. I went there to get a root touch up…what a mismatch of colors on my hair. I will need to go somewhere else to get it redone. I was also left under the hairdryer for a long time. She forgot about me because she got busy with others that came after me. I had an appointment but it didn’t seem to matter. My first & definitely my last time there! Your choice but I do not recommend this hair salon.

Sarah Washington: I’ve officially stop coming here after being a customer for approximately 14 years. This salon has not been the same since Melanie left. They only cater to the Hispanic community and treat them extra friendly; meanwhile, all black customers get is overcharged and heat damage to their hair because the dryer is on the highest setting burning your hair. Dori, the owner of the salon is very kind and I have never had a negative encounter with her. The two woman that work at this establishment daily act one way when Dori is in the building and a whole other when she is not present.

From the beginning, I felt so comfortable with Ashley because she explained everything I needed to know before I came in, she both listened to what I wanted and gave her professional input without any pressure at the consultation, and she just had good energy overall. During the appointment, the conversation was pleasant, and she even made me a coffee. She did her work with apparent ease and made my fine hair look SO pretty! I had been a total newb, and honestly kind of lazy, at doing my own hair for a long time, but I was ready for a change, and Ashley was kind enough to answer all of my questions and explain what she was doing as she finished my cut with a blow-dry and style. Not only was I super thrilled with the way my hair looked at the end of my appointment, I now feel much more confident and able to elevate my own look whenever I want (Though not as good as she did, haha. Maybe with a lot more practice!) I will definitely be returning in the future for maintenance or maybe another change, and I highly recommend that anyone reading this go to ALC Hair!

My hair was blown out so bad that some parts of my hair were not even blow dry? I had a wedding to go to that night and I had to redo my entire hair. Never again. 70 dollars down the drain.
