1 /5 Michael Wentland: BEWARE: DO NOT USE DR PAUL PAI ENDODONTICS
I would like share a personal experience as a caution to others requiring a root canal. DO NOT USE DR PAUL PAI for your root canal.
I had to see another doctor because this doctor refused to acknowledge their endodontist malpractice.
After receiving a root canal from this doctor, I always had pain. They told me I could experience pain for "a while". A little over 1yr (and after a crown was installed by my regular dentist), I was experiencing more pain in the root canal tooth. At 2yr and 3 months, I visited my dentist for a regular cleaning and stated I had severe pain. She advised I call Dr Pai immediately because I should not feel anything after a root canal. I called starting in September and they would not schedule a visit and kept trying to delay, deny, defend their botched procedure. I recorded every call with them. I even called several attorneys who said they are likely dodging me because their malpractice statute of limitations is coming right up in a few months. Sure enough, a call just days after their statute of limitations was up, I called and they were more than happy to see me about their own problem for a $400 consultation fee.
I went to see another doctor in Poughkeepsie who found in fact it was malpractice. I had 4 roots to be filled total, and Dr Pai only filled 3 of the 4. The fourth root took some time, but became severely infected. My new doctor was amazing, and was even able to drill the 4th infected root, saving the tooth from extraction.
So in summary, Dr Pai being trained and practicing as an Endodontist is likely to have known he missed one or more roots when I called. They dodged seeing me 3 months until their statute of limitations was up and they could not be sued. Not only is this practice unprofessional, unethical, but its also illegal.
As a warning, go somewhere were the endodontist is ethical. DO NOT USE DR PAUL PAI ENDODONTICS! He is not ethical.
