Quiet Cove Riverfront Park - Poughkeepsie (NY)

5 /5 Ed Tubridy: I was in town for a quick visit and I wanted to see the Hudson River up close. This is a great place to do it. It’s dog friendly and I met some local people just hanging out and they told me it used to be an insane asylum. The most excellent experience.

5 /5 kim lud: A wonderful park which is perfect for a picnic or reading a book. There are plenty of clean picnic tables and seating areas throughout the park, as well as hiking trails along the river and woods. It is a great place to watch the boats and trains go by while listening to the quiet lapping of the Hudson River. Today, we even watched a bald eagle fly over with a fish! Be advised, it is a fairly steep walk with many stairs to get from the parking lot down into the park (handicapped accessible parking is under the bridge and much closer).

4 /5 ALittleBit OfHeaven: They have very nice grounds, and you can bring your own grill or use the ones already set up. Make sure to arrive with everything you need, as there are no convenient stores nearby. Bring your dog they’ll love it!

5 /5 cosette shave: A beautiful park right on the Hudson River! The parking is easy, and theres accessible parking closer for any who need it. Its a beautiful, quiet retreat with plenty of places to sit or picnic.
