06-2025 Railroad Museum of Long Island in Hight rate 6 location for tourist in Riverhead, NY, USAThe Big Duck - Flanders Ethan Crain: I love the Big Duck we drove 1 hour 40 minutes to see it, and it was worth it. Some say they were disappointed by its size….its much bigger than a regular duck! I would recommend it to anyone. Hope to come back soon.
Splish Splash Water Park - Calverton Authentically Bazile: Im back with another review! Today, I want to share my experience at Splash Splash Water Park. To be honest, I havent visited this place since I was a kid, and I can see why. If youre not a fan of crowds, you might want to think twice before coming here. The park is usually packed, no matter what day you choose to visit. That said, the little ones had a blast in the toddler area. Make sure to arrive early, as finding a seat can be a challenge. I also recommend renting a locker to stash your valuables. Its a tap-and-pay park, so your phone will be perfectly safe. Dont forget to bring sunscreen because the sun can be relentless!
One thing I appreciated was the ample staff presence, which made me feel my kids were well looked after. However, the food options left much to be desired. Bring your own sandwiches, food is overpriced and not tasty at all; the only decent choice was the pizza. The lines for other attractions were ridiculously long, and combined with the heat, waiting felt like an eternity. I attempted to wait in a few lines but quickly changed my mind.
As for souvenirs, I would skip those entirely; theyre overpriced and not worth your hard-earned money. This park is definitely for kids who dont mind being in crowded spaces and have a bit of survival instinct because, lets be honest, they wont care whos in their path. I think I lost about 8.5 pounds just trying to keep up with my energetic toddlers.
Parking was a nightmare, but I was grateful for handicap parking; it really saved me from circling around for ages. Overall, I’d give this place a 3 out of 5. If you decide to visit, just be prepared for the crowds—it’s pretty gentrified if you’re curious.
Stotzky Memorial Park - Riverhead Gabrielle Schnittman: We went for my son and really enjoyed it! It was very clean and the crowd was nice and helped him learn new tricks
The Museum At Bethel Woods - Bethel Rodney Brown: Wonderful visit to one of the most sacred grounds for american music. The museum is very detailed. Plan on a couple of hours to go through. Many, many artifacts from the event. Well worth the 8 hr drive for me.
Stone Arch Bridge Historical Park - Kenoza Lake Walter Bowne: Incredible find while simply driving to covered bridges in the area. Tranquil. Serene. Inspired me to write (Im a writer) a modern-day hex murder based on the hex murder here.
Found Moments: Stone Arch Bridge Park
We came across this place called Stone Arch Bridge Park. As you know by now, its an absolutely gorgeous day here. This bridge was built in 1888, I believe by Swiss immigrants. Its just really pretty here.
Slowly pans the camera.
What I love about little road trips is that - even though we have a few destinations in mind - you just stumble upon things and go, "Wow, this is really, really cool." So, were going to have lunch here. Alright everyone, take care. Get out there - adventure awaits. Just get out. Get away from your computer or TV. Grab the one you love, your best friend - whoever - and have an adventure.
Its beautiful here. If youre into trout fishing, this would be a great spot. Were at Stone Arch Bridge, near Callicoon, New York, in the Catskills.
Were kind of close to the Delaware River, heading toward Livingston - or maybe its Livingstone. There are a couple of bridges there too. Its just… beautiful. Absolutely, absolutely wonderful. Theres a playground here, and it made us think about our daughters - how much they wouldve loved this when they were little. Oh - theres my wife. Anyway, take care everyone. Seek adventure.
Adventure can be right outside your door. You dont have to drive to the mountains or to New York. Theres so much life out there. So much to experience, to learn, and to savor - with all your senses. A lot better than watching stuff on a phone. (Even though - youre watching this on a phone. The irony - I get it. Right? Right?) Cheers, people.
Lake Superior State Park - Bethel Irene Gutierrez: It’s very nice, peaceful and quite but the beach is closed for today due to algae in the water and they are waiting for test results so if your planning to come please call ahead to make sure the beach is open.
