5 /5 WB: I have been lived in Canandaigua for 10 years and used various car repair services. This is the best I have had. I checked for the oil leak, which I use other service for three times and the still leak. They quickly checked and tighter screws, and told me come back tomorrow if it is still leaking. After two days, no oil spots showing up on the garage at all. Excellent work and no charge. Much appreciated their good service and kind altitude to customer.

I have never had a bad experience,!and I trust them completely to be fair, honest, and timely. People I’ve referred to Steele and Bell have said the same things. What luck to have them right in my own neighborhood!

5 /5 Kathy Mattoon: I had a great experience today at Steele and Bell Automotive. I stopped by to see if they could make an appointment to diagnose a problem with my car. Matt advised he could get my car up on a lift in the afternoon if I could bring it back which was no problem. I brought it back. They not only diagnosed it. They priced it out and repaired it within an hour and a half. The waiting room was pleasant. The service technician explained his work. The owner was very pleasant and informative. I will definitely be returning and recommending Steele and Bell to my friends and family. They are the real deal.

5 /5 Pat Coleman: We need more people like Matt and the respective mechanics. I’m not from the area, and crossed paths Steele and Bell by happens chance. I had car problems about 2 blocks from the shop, with my wife and 4 y/o on board. Not only did they ensure we got the car to the shop okay, Matt was kind enough to point out some restaurants in the area, things to do with the little guy, and ensured we got back on the road the same day so that we could get home. Beyond the service, Matt and the mechanics made it feel like my family and I were priority number 1, which speaks highly of them and their business. Would gladly recommend them to anyone for the way they treat others - like humans, not dollar signs.

After my oil change the issue returned on my way home. I drove back and asked Brandon if he could take look at it. He worked on it for close to a half hour and refused to take any payment. Friendly, professional and honest. Outstanding service.

It was about 25 minutes before they closed, one of the guys stopped what they were doing to help me out. He had it fixed in 10 minutes and didn’t even charge me for it. I offered to pay twice and he refused to take payment for it, he just did it out of the goodness of his heart and that’s a hard thing to come by nowadays. A major shout out to these guys, I’m definitely going to be doing business with them in the future.

Susan Garber: I was recommended to go to this shop, as I needed a state inspection and oil change, and had a great experience. This is a “Mom & Pop” shop and the couple that owes it are very down to earth people. Their daughter and son-in-law also work there, and everyone was very friendly and personable. They are also very honest and won’t tell you work “needs to be done” on your car that isn’t truly needed. My car currently has an open recall, but I was told by the dealer the parts were in a national shortage. Without even asking, Fox’s looked up, within a 250-mile radius, a search for who might have the part that I needed to see if they could find the part to complete the recall. They also helped explain to me what the recall was about and why it was important. Unfortunately, no one had the part, but I thought it was above and beyond that they checked to begin with and just reflects on their character. I will most definitely be going back.

Mr. (MilliRocket): Made an appointment one week in advance for an oil change, tire rotation, and balance, and the brake inspection. I had drop off was notified that they didn’t have the oil to do a Volkswagen oil change and couldn’t get it from their normal supplier. Auto parts store carries oil, but they had no one to get the oil. They did complete the tire rotation and balance, and stated that the brake system was fine. I notified them at the time the appointment was made, and also again when I dropped the car off a week later that the front rotors were warped and would need to be replaced and the pads. The service tech there when I pick the car up, stated the other tech did the work and left early so I assume no inspection was completed. The visit here was a complete waste of time. I had to take it to another shop who confirmed the front rotors were warped and replaced pads and rotors.. Other reviewers have commented this place is understaffed and very poorly managed.
