1 /5 April Lee: Tom Duperree treated my family terribly. We were unaware that it was a mobile food pantry day and we had parked in the parking lot and gone into the building. He came in and identified our vehicle and said it would be towed in two minutes, instead of politely asking us to move our car. We were not the only victims to his harsh demeanor, as he was yelling at a woman with a service dog saying that dogs were not allowed in the building.
Afterwards on my way out, I was trailing behind him. He never held the door for me and it almost hit me. Then he approached my husband who was waiting for me in the vehicle and he began to interrogate him as to which door he exited. He falsely accused him of coming through an employee exit when my husband came through the front door, as we always have. Tom Duperree threatened to have my husband arrested, though he witnessed nothing and was making these false claims and calling us liars. This treatment was shocking and for a Christian organization its leadership did not behave in Christ-like fashion. There was no mercy and no compassion.
Since Tom Duperree and his wife is the only contact for Salvation Army leadership, there is no way to complain about this unjust treatment. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord; God is my vindicator and I hope Tom Duperree repents of his actions and takes my distress to heart.
