1 /5 Eugenie Rosenthal: I found the jewelry to be low-quality and the owner to be very unhelpful. We had a situation where our debit card was misappropriated by a teenager outside our family and used over a short period to purchase thousands of dollars of jewelry from Jewels by Joanne. When we discovered the fraud and recovered the pieces, we were about a month outside the return window. Joanne looked at the pieces and said the ones that had been worn were in “horrible shape.” Really? Wearing this jewelry for a month renders it “horrible?” I wouldn’t go here for pieces you hope to last, I guess. However, even pieces that had never been worn and that she could resell easily because she said they are popular, she refused to consider taking back even for a partial refund because it was outside her return window. Seemed very inflexible and unhelpful. I was stuck with all this jewelry. To her credit, she expressed sympathy for our substantial loss, but this is not the kind of good neighbor business I am happy to have in my neighborhood.
