1 /5 Emily Vargas: In short...they have an extremely outdated paper system that has flaws because they messed up with purchase and instead of fixing their mistake and APOLOGIZING, the owner dismissed me, gave me a refund, and pushed me out of the door rather than allowing me to further shop. The owner was so rude and adamant that I was wrong, then when his daughter realized she made a mistake and tried to fix it, the owner just dismissed me and pushed me out the door. TERRIBLE customer service. Zero stars if possible.
Whew, this was the worst experience Ive had in a long time. I first came to KOD in June and placed 2 items on layaway, a wedding band and a collarbone length small gold chain, a total of about $400. The woman took my deposit and handed me a yellow slip detailing the items and stapled receipt of the deposit. She told me I could leave it on layaway as long as I needed and no minimum amount for payments. She did not tell me that I had to make payments every 2 weeks or they place the items back on the shelf or that when you come in to make the payments that you present that yellow slip (extremely outdated and ancient system for 2024). I stopped in about 1 month later in July and came in with my partner so that he could shop for an item. While he looked around, one of the reps came up to me and I asked to place $50 on my layaway, she asked for my name, and took my card, returning with a receipt from the $50. She did not ask for a yellow layaway slip nor did I know I had to present it.
One month later in August, I revisit the store with my partner and ask to put more money down on my layaway, maybe pay it in full. This rep (someone I havent worked with) asked me for my yellow slip and I was confused but dug it out of my wallet. She told me that because this was my first time paying and its 2 months later from date of layaway, that the 2 items I was paying towards have been put back on the shelves and SOLD! She returns with 2 different items stating that this was the closed in style and price that my layaway could go towards. I explained to the woman that I was confused because I came in last month and paid $50 on the layaway and at neither visit, the initial and the day I made my first payment did either of those reps say it had to be paid every 2 weeks. I showed my receipt that I was given when I came in for the first payment (July) and saw that the woman entered her own name where the item name should have been instead of "layaway" or "payment" or anything else that determined the $50 was for the layaway. That made absolutely no sense. They were adamant that I purchased another item from the store. The woman turned out to be Ashley the owners daughter and she admitted that she made a mistake and placed the $50 on a different persons (with the same last name) layaway. She adjusted the amount, putting the $50 on my initial layaway but now having to sell me the alternate items. The owner who already walked away without apologizing, returned and told Ashley to just refund me and I could come back another day rather than allowing me to shop around if I wanted to. They were wrong and dismissed me. 0/5
