He went through all of his inventory, but there was no piece compatible to fix it. He was honest with me and told me so. I then purchased a new watch and he removed several links from the band to fit my wrist. I walked out smiling, wearing my new watch, with a watchband that fits my wrist perfectly. Each time I came in, he was pleasant to talk to, patient with all of the questions I posed to him, and charged me a very reasonable fee. Im quite happy having Nicolas Jewelers as my jeweler.

Recently searching for an engagement ring, I did my fair share of searching around the Utica area for a jeweler, and Paul had exactly what I needed, and got the ring to me ahead of schedule.

KAY Jewelers - Syracuse

Y U: This Kay Jewelers does not stand by its warranty or word. Under the Lifetime warranty that I have, sizing, repairs, and stones are supposed to be covered at no cost to me. I have faithfully taken my ring in for inspections and cleanings even though I have not been able to wear it due to the arthritis in my hands swelling my knuckles up, so it has been sitting in a box for a few years. I have taken it for inspections for years to keep the warranty active, however, for the past couple of years they insist that a ring that I have not worn needs work and that I have to pay for out of pocket as they will not honor the warranty. This has been expensive for me as I trusted them and paid to have the work done. The last time I took it in I was once again told that it needed work "not covered by the warranty". I explained that a ring sitting in a box could not possibly incur the damage that they were trying to charge me for. When I refused to agree to the "repair" which I believe was supposed to have been done previously they did not record the inspection and cancelled my warranty, even though the store records show that I had taken it in that day and their "findings". Contacting headquarters did nothing to resolve the issue as they say there is no record of my last inspection (even though the store has a record of it) because I did not agree to having the work done and that if I did not agree to spend the money for the unnecessary repair they would void the warranty. After wasting hours of my time trying to get them to resolve this, I gave up and decided to continue keeping the ring in its box and let the warranty go as it was not worth the hassle ( another one of their tactics?). I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS KAY JEWELERS LOCATION!!!!

Briar Hanna: My friends and I have been coming to this place for years and I think its hands-down the best pawn shop/retro game store in the area. As a pawn shop there is always a variety of eye catching stuff at decent prices. Guitars and amps, stereo setups, jewelry, cameras, comics and so much more. As a retro game store it is a collectors paradise. So many consoles from the 80s-now and a slew of games for each one. Every console comes with a controller and a free game and if anything doesnt work theyll replace it with no questions asked. Current Gen consoles are also frequently sold here at great prices, especially around the holiday season. Both owners are engaging and amicable though I usually talk to the younger guy, Dom. I can tell that he is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable collector and I really like chatting with him about some of the rarer stuff that comes through the shop. Overall a great place to stop by if youre looking to get into any number of hobbies, expand your collections, trade stuff in, or even just to kill a half-hour in the Utica area.
