Chrystal Tyler I attended this Church on Friday for my Sister in laws remembrance ceremony . I found the service was very rushed through it lasted about 22 mins. There was confusion over if we made a reservation to remember yet the place was empty our family were grieving. Just seemed a little disorganized yet we were the only people there for that service. Once it was over they had everyone out by 7:25 and locked the doors and fence like if they were missing an appt. Didnt feel welcoming or even inviting this what church had become.

Robert Piche Only in the Bronx can an English speaking American not find an English Mass. One Mass, 7:45a on Sunday, is the only English Mass offered all week! There is not a single weekday Mass offered in English! Strangely though the website, directions, and mass times are all in perfect English. I just dont get it.

Diana Rivera-Torres Now a days people make decisions today based on on-line reviews. Im myself am guilty as charge but when it comes to church reviews, it should never influence your decisions on which church you should visit. Go where you feel the most comfortable, where you feel at peace & where you feel welcomed by everyone! I have been going to St. John Chrysostom for more than 24 years, my husbands parents got married here & so did my husband & I. Our children have all been Baptized, received Holy Communion & Confirmation here. I have attend many other mass at different vacation spots & love them all but I truly love my church family at St. John Chrysostom so come on, we welcome you & your beautiful family with open arms lets pray altogether.

Inside you will find beautiful architecture and stained glass that has been maintained. Visit the area and enjoy the events, shop at many of the Italian specialty shops and eat at one of the wonderful restaurants. This neighborhood was depicted in the movie "A Bronx Tale" by Chazz Palminteri. Its close to Fordham University, Bronx Zoo, Bronx Botanical Gardens, Metro North and many other local bus and train routes.

Jacqueline Lisella So Im a little biased, because I have attended this church and was baptized and made communion here when my family lived in the bronx. I always loved the music here and the stained glass windows on the inside of the church. The outside also is a brick building and is very nice. I have family too that got married here, and according to my mom- the church really hasnt changed at all- at least the inside hasnt. Anyways, went here recently on Saturday May 3rd 2025 to attend a communion in the family. Loved the chorus singers- and the kids singing. Only downfall is that id suggest a better soundsystem as I couldnt really hear some of the priests that were doing the mass. Sometimes people not hearing the mass can make it hard to follow along with it.Especially if one wants to renew their faith if they havent gone to church. The spews are comfortable. Enjoyed my visit back to the old church where i was baptized, and made my communion myself!

Maria Vasquez Father George Stewart prayed to God and God healed a church member of Chrons disease. Parishioner no longer feels pain and no longer needs to take any injections for Crohns. He even has the paperwork of the before and after medical testing results. And in another separate incident. Father George Stewart prayed over a lady who had a swollen ankle immediately after that person had injured the ankle. The pain was initially 10 out of 10. The person could not walk at all and wanted to go to the emergency room immediately. But during prayer, I kid you not, he and the person saw the swollen leg shrink down back to normal in a span of 5 seconds, and the pain was 0 out of 10 immediately after prayer. Immediately after prayer, she was jumping and running in surprised joy.
