2 /5 Scott Bianco: For years my daughter with Celiac has called this her favorite restaurant. The food and service have always been on point. Which makes our most recent visit even more disappointing. We started with fried calamari and fried pickles which both came out cold. The calamari was also undercooked I know the rule of thumb for calamari is better under than over, but this was extreme. They remade the appetizers and the server waited for them to come out of the fryer this time so they were served hot on the outside but again, some of the calamari was undercooked. French fries all came out cold. My steak was cold on the outside. I dont mind cold on the inside, but the outside should at least be warm. I had two bloody Marys that I asked for well vodka since I cant taste the difference in a Bloody Mary when the bill came, it indicated that I had two Titos Bloody Marys. When I pointed this out to the server she said there was nothing she could do once the alcohol was in they couldnt make changes. I asked to speak to the manager who told me yes they can make changes. She also apologized profusely and said theyre having difficulty getting good people and theyre trying to train new staff.
But she also indicated that Jimmy, the manager of the Albany location. My favorite 110 Grill location has been helping them get back on track that theyve had issues for over a year.
According to the manager, they had a new trainee on the friars which explains how my daughter got gluten contaminated. Obviously the trainee put some gluten in the Gluten-Free fryer. My daughter was sick for 2 days after and we will not return to this location!
By the way, my half Caesar salad came with more shaved Parmesan than lettuce, which Im sure cut into the profit margin.
The manager did try to make it right with the bill but no amount of compensation could make up for how ill it made my daughter.
