Big Tree Inn - Geneseo (NY)

5 /5 Kim Laine: Decorated for Christmas. Clean and homey. Staff attentive and friendly. Food at restaurant above average with good service. Keurig in the morning appreciated. Close to everything, but the winter ice storm made getting around difficult. Staff at the inn kept areas salted and safe.

2 /5 John Collins: Ate at the restaurant. Inexperienced wait staff need training. No familiarity with the menu. Irritating that they havent tasted every dish or at a minimum know what they are serving. It was a busy night but for our first visit it wasnt great. 1/ French onion soup was missing the bread and blue cheese listed on the menu. Soup was tasty but an unappealing color and consistency. 2/ herb mashed potatoes were tasteless although nicely piped. The horseradish mash was 10x better. 3/ half chicken was ok but a bit under cooked 4/ burger was undercooked Well give it one more try but the restaurant needs more careful management.

5 /5 Val Gropp: My Grand and I were out for special time and we went here! She is almost 5...we were treated very well! She enjoyed the Chocolate Cake that was served in a fancy way!

5 /5 Haylee Krenzer: We stayed at the Big Tree for three nights and had drinks and dinner at the restaurant. The food was delicious- fun appetizers and great portions for entrees. The room was cozy with historic charm and modern amenities. Staff was lovely and accommodating, we will be back!!

5 /5 Roger Reddy: We made reservations for an early dinner at the Big Tree Inn on Saturday before we went to a show at the Riviera. It was our first visit to both. We did not stay in the rooms. The Inn is a quaint look back at the past. You could almost hear the horse and buggy pull up. It has been modernized just enough for our 21st century sensibilities to be comfortable. Since we were early we had the dining room to ourselves and it felt very colonial. The staff were fantastic. The food was great too. The chef obviously has a strong New Orleans influence. My jambalaya balls and shrimp etouffe were very authentic. Well worth the drive from Rochester. We shall return.
