Catskill Momos - Delhi (NY)

2 /5 A I: Could not wait to try Catskill momos! After reading such great reviews and everyone raving. First off, we did take out so right there I cannot write an accurate review about the C-momo. They were hard and very tiny and I’m sure the hardness came from them getting cold. The sauce the momos were in tasted bland and not fresh at all. The potato samosas could not have been fresh. They tasted pre cooked right from the frozen food isle. The shogo momo I’m confused about. It was fried not sure if they were supposed to be steamed but they too were hard as a rock. The chicken thukpa was bland and not very appetizing. I’ve had some pretty damn good authentic mango lassi and this was gross. In fact, I have eaten plenty of south asian dishes some authentic and some not. So I am aware of what some of these dishes should taste like. The only thing we actually liked and that too was on the bland, dry side was the Alu Dham. I’m very disappointed and do not think I will be returning as a customer. I will say the lady over the phone was very friendly and the establishment was clean.

5 /5 Patricia Fike: I was really hesitant to try out dining at this place due to some reviews saying some comments here are fake. But I tried it anyway just last week and I can really attest that the food here at Catskill Momos are great! Im obsessed with their momos, which I think are filled with beef and chickpea. Their own version of ramen with chicken is great and the chicken thupka is fantastic! I really want to encourage everyone to try this out before believing some bad reviews.

5 /5 Daniel Donnelly: Facing facts, you will find NO other establishment preparing authentic Tibetan momos ANYWHERE in the Catskills, so this market niche is a sealed deal! That said, the momos are of outstanding quality, available in vegetarian and meat-filled varieties. The proprietor Jimmy is very friendly, and the Buddhist decorations are gorgeous. The bathroom is narrow but clean. Unpaved parking in the restaurants front and on its side. In November 2021 the Delaware County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location during his campaign for New York Governor.

3 /5 Yaron Kufert: The food was great but the service was pretty bad. We ordered 5 plates of momos that took 55 minutes to arrive. 40 minutes after we sat the waiter apologized for the wait and gave 3 cups of water to 6 of us. Finally, when the food was ready the waiter gave us the food w/o individual plates, even though we said well eat family style, so we got to stare at the food for another 5 minutes while starving until we got the plates. Once arrived, the food was pretty good. A better and faster service would have resulted in a 5 star review.. I had momos in north India where one waiter served x5 people in a third of the time...

5 /5 Paul Moody: Visiting from Utah. We drove an hour to eat here because of my brother-in-laws recommendation. We had the Alu Dham, Mushroom Tofu Momo, Super Green Momo, Chicken Thukpa Ngoepa, Mango Lassi, and the Juicy Mango Mochi ice cream. All excellent. The service was great, very prompt and friendly. I wish we lived closer!
