4 /5 Jessica Deng: I was very excited to see a Himalayan spot opening up on this side of Elmhurst because I felt there was a need for more diverse food anyways.
The exterior is very eye-catching especially with all of the decorations and colors the owners put effort into. The interior is just wow, different colors - lots of greens, purple & brown. The seating and tables are very pretty and the lighting is perfect.
I haven’t tried too much food here, but so far I have had the: Buff chow mein, Chatamari Set (Nepalese style folded pizza with spiced meats and vegetables), Kathmandu Ko Faarzi Jhoi Momo Cha (Nepalese style dumplings with flavorful fillings served with special tangy sauce) and Baudha Ko Faarzi Cheu Momo (steamed momo with flavorful juicy buttery fillings served with 2 different sauces). There’s a lot of interesting aromatics in the food and their momo’s are delicious! I can’t eat much spicy foods, so I chose the ones that were mild or not spicy.
The bar menu had an assortment of drinks and cocktails. I’ve tried a few of the cocktails at Faarzi and they are on point.
Overall, a pleasant experience if you’re looking for a different type of cuisine and atmosphere. The staff here are very nice & welcoming. The music is also very relaxing and when you’re here, you forget you’re even in NYC.
