Gus Steakhouse - Norwich (NY)

1 /5 F C (C.S.F): Would suggest avoiding this restaurant. Food took over 1:15 hours to come out. Table of 7, my steak was well done and 8 oz when I ordered 12 oz medium. Two of the seafood dishes were severely undercooked. Could not purchase a bottle of wine for the table and were required to purchase 5 glasses of the same wine. Our waitress was very pleasant but we could hear and see that the staff was upset. This was the worst dining experience we have had to date. This is sad as there is not many dining options for the Norwich, NY area but we have yet to hear of a pleasant experience at this location.

3 /5 Mr. AR: A tale of two dinners. One with excellent server and a terrific pasta salad. The other with long wait times and a disappointing entree. We had a short wait for our reserved party of 6 table in the bar. The local bar crowd was friendly and inviting to us. We sat and since our group had a party attitude and already had drinks we did not notice there was one waitress for our table, a party of 10 next to us and 2 other smaller tables. She handled the load like a champ but the wait times because I assume the kitchen was behind were terrible. We got a complimentary pasta salad that I assume come with all dinners and it was fantastic. Our appetizers were OK but were not on par with typical chain restaurants. Another long wait and then came the entrees. My wifes 15 oz rib eye was at first under-cooked and then a very fatty poor cut of meat. (we were given a free dessert). My special penne alla vodka with chicken had dry chunks of chicken with a sweet and not very creamy vodka sauce. Again it was OK but not great. I would eat here again to give them another shot but not the experience I was expecting.

4 /5 Victoria Flavin: 5 of us went to dinner on the grand opening night and it was busy. The ribs did not disappoint. The recipe tasted the same as before. We also had the French onion soup which was great. The beef fajitas were tasty and filling. Two people had steak. One said it was good but a little dry. The other said it was Ok but had a little too much gristle. The baked sweet potato had the tasty cinnamon butter. The service was great,very attentive. The only disappointment for my husband was that they removed the chili from the menu. That was his favorite thing on the menu. But it was still worth the drive from Lansing.

1 /5 Bonnie B: Our experience here was awful. In all fairness my food was good; however, that was not the case for my BF. He ordered surf and turf with mashed potatoes. They came out and said they didnt have mashed. Okay easy fix - no problem. Then the came out and said oops we cooked u the wrong steak. Now his food is 15 minutes behind my food. To top it off his steak was like shoe leather and at $28.00 it should be chewable at the least. We will never return. They never offered to take anything off the bill either. HUGE disappointment!

5 /5 Martha Toepfer: The prime rib was cooked just right, the baked potato was done perfectly. The service was great! The waitress was friendly,helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming. I am definitely going to eat there again!
