2 /5 ElRumbo: Came to Oak & Reed today Sunday 11/30/25 to celebrate my wife’s birthday and ordered 2 appetizers and 2 main dishes. starting with the appetizers we had the Korean broccoli which was very good, I believe it’s one of the most requested dish by diners. The other appetizer was the crab cakes, which if you see the pictures is made up of carb cake in the center and flour and cornmeal on the outer sides. Yes it tasted just like it sounds cornmeal with carb meat in the center. I would not recommend this appetizer. I’ve had better ones at a true sea food restaurant. The other main dishes were the shank of lamb which my wife found it was under seasoned. Saffron rice was not found in the dish. but must say the meat was very tender….off the bone tender. The other dish we ordered was the fried chicken which was over cooked almost burned. compare the pictures of this dish with other in the reviews. even though the presentation had much to be desired on this dish the chicken was good…….. not to write home about good….I mean when compared to Halal fried chicken from other chicken places hear in Middletown. In summary, we are going to give this place a rest for now. There are to may options to choose from.
