4 /5 Michael Samodurov: Otto Tomotto’s has been recommended to us by a few family members, so we were looking forward to trying it. The atmosphere was lovely, the people were nice, and the food was good. I did also like the amount of options on the menu. The food was a little pricey though, so I don’t know if I would recommend it over my other local favorites like Prosseco. The big plus is that they have a more family centric restaurant with a party room.
First, the food was good. My wife tried the Tortellini Pomodoro, which was delicious. I would absolutely recommend trying it if you like very thick, creamy pasta.
I ordered the special intending to give that a review, but unfortunately they “literally just sold the last one” after I ordered it. Which was honestly very disappointing considering we were there at 6:30. The waiter recommended the Italian Fish Fry because it was similar, but fish instead of chicken. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it. It was extremely one note. The fish was pan fried and intended to be crispy, but it was soggy after sitting in the lemon butter sauce, which would be fine, if the sauce wasn’t basically lemon juice. All I tasted the entire time I ate was lemon juice. I didn’t taste any other flavors, just lemon. If I hadn’t eaten some of the pomodoro my wife ordered I would have given the food 2 stars.
We did try the cannolis, which we usually try at most Italian restaurants. And we did enjoy them. I felt they were worth the $7 for 2.
Unfortunately, I can’t review the salad because despite ordering it before our meal we never got it. It was only $2.50 for an add on salad, but we were disappointed that we had to let the waiter know we never received it.
I do want to mention that they do serve bread and it’s a nice Italian bread with a garlic butter that we did enjoy.
The atmosphere was comfortable. I liked the decor, but I don’t like restaurants that use paper to protect their table cloths. That’s just a personal preference.
Overall, I might give Otto tomotto’s another try sometime in the future, but it wasn’t my favorite place.
