2 /5 Jeffery Bacus: The Good: The place really looks amazing. I loved the look of the building with the crows painted on the walls. The inside has a great atmosphere, great lighting, great decor. (Booths could have been a bit more comfortable) We started with a couple of signature cocktails which were both pretty good.
The Bad: Crab cakes tasted okay but were served to us still a bit cold in the middle. Still the best food we had all night.
The Catfish tacos were bland with stale tortillas and felt like they might have just came from a frozen bag of catfish nuggets. Ive had much better catfish tacos at much cheaper restaurants. It was also served on a bed of super wilted arugula. We were laughing about it since we werent planning on eating it.
The falafel salad was a surprisingly large portion but the falafel was inedible. I ate one out of the three pieces. (I eat falafel usually once a week in different restaurants as I travel a lot for work and these were by far the worst Ive ever had. In fact the first time I ever cooked falafel myself it was better by far) the sauce seemed like it might have just been plain unflavored yogurt. I dont like to waste food so I tried to eat around the sauce and falafel.
The cauliflower had okay flavor (not great) but we didnt care for the texture. Might have been better if it was more crispy.
The calamari wasnt great either. Neither of us liked the dipping sauce and we felt it could have been fried longer.
We were excited to try this place but it was frankly terrible. To be fair it was New Years day so we thought maybe the chef had the day off and they were just heating up food.
For the price there are tons of way better restaurant options in the area. I wont be back.
