The Storyteller - Hyde Park (NY)

5 /5 Greg Lange: We had an outstanding experience at The Storyteller. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really made the night special were the people. Hugo and Sebastian were great conversationalist that made the evening truly enjoyable. Hugo, the bartender, crafted some truly exceptional cocktails—easily some of the best we’ve had in any hotel restaurant. Sebastian was equally impressive: personable, attentive, and sharp. The menu was a very pleasant surprise—creative, flavorful, and far above what you’d expect from a hotel dining spot. We had the scallops and sweet/spicy chicken sandwich. We followed Hugo’s recommendations on drinks and dinner and everything was top notch. Highly recommend stopping in whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for great drinks, great food, and great service.

5 /5 Deborah Brewer: The breakfast spread was the largest I’ve ever seen in my travels. Juices, different coffees, waffles, yogurts with toppings, pastries, fruit, quiches and traditional eggs bacon and home fries were offered. This is a new facility and its style was on trend for 2025. It is clean, no compromising smells and the staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I’ll stay here again when traveling thru.

4 /5 Amirali: We got the desert, the browni wasn’t warm, but it was tasty. The drinks were really good but a bit overpriced as expected for a restaurant inside the hotel!

3 /5 Vincent Spano: Nice looking place but mediocre food for the price, and poor service. Maybe they are still getting their footing, but I cant rate this restaurant more than a 3. We shared an arugula salad, both ordered a hamburger, which came with fries, and a glass of wine each. The pre-tip bill was over $100. The arugula salad came with 4 slivers of apples, some candied nuts and was slightly larger than a typical side salad that comes with most meals. The beef was grass fed, the burger tasted fine, but its a burger. Simply not worth the price especially when you factor in the lack of service. It was nearly impossible to get anyone to notice we walked in and there was essentially no one in the restaurant. We arrived at 5:30 and didnt leave until 7:30 the service was that slow. The menu is quite limited. Not recommended.

5 /5 Lisa Murphy: This review is for the hotel breakfast: The breakfast buffet is included in your room price. There was a very large selection each morning. I am vegan and I appreciated the oatmeal with toppings, fresh fruit, and potatoes each morning. For those that eat dairy and meat, there were several hot items (eggs, sausage, bacon, egg dishes, etc that rotated each morning), waffles, many different pastries, and yogurt. Salim was overseeing the breakfast area and was very attentive and helpful. He kept everything stocked and clean - all while smiling and helping guests. I did not eat at this restaurant for any other meals as they did not offer vegan options on the menu and it looked rather overpriced for a hotel lobby.
