5 /5 Thierry Croizer: Charming Spot for a Relaxed Lunch
While spending the weekend in Watkins Glen, my wife and I decided to take a scenic drive around Keuka Lake—and we’re so glad we did. We stopped for an early lunch around 11:30 AM at the Village Tavern and Inn in Hammondsport, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our day.
We sat outside on a cozy little porch, which offers a nice view and atmosphere. Depending on traffic, it might get a bit noisy, but during our visit it was quiet enough to enjoy a great conversation over a leisurely meal.
The service was warm and welcoming. We were taken care of by a friendly waitress and the owner himself, both of whom made us feel right at home. My wife ordered an omelette, which she loved, and I had steak and eggs. The steak came out perfectly rare, just the way I like it.
The food was delicious, well-portioned, and fairly priced—great value for the quality. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back the next time we’re in the Finger Lakes region. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good food and friendly hospitality in a charming lakeside town.
