Christaan Felber My car wouldn’t start because rats had eaten through the wiring. I called up the dealer and they said the next appointment they had was in a month. I found Tom through a Google search and he said I could drop the car off the next day. I had it towed to his shop and it was done in the afternoon. He was kind, professional and trustworthy. Definitely recommended!

Amy Krawczyk Very grateful to Ali and his worker (I wish I got his name!) We had an issue with what we thought was the transmission. Ali ran the diagnostic machine to discover all was in working order and that the shift lever was the culprit. We had called the dealership to see if our car was still under warranty and got a quote from them (because it wasnt). They said the part wasnt sold separately from a whole new transmission-- 6600 parts, no labor. Ali sourced the part (for a lot less) and saved us from selling our car and going carless. So grateful! He was quick, friendly and truly helped our family. We found our new mechanic.

Abena K Brown Jimmys Auto was recommended to me by my previous mechanic when his health issues was becoming too much for him to keep working. That was in 2014. Ive gotten a newer car since then and I still have my maintenance and upkeep done at Jimmys. He and his son Chris are so pleasant. Jimmy is more of the prankster with his wit and humor. However all jokes aside Jimmys is the place to go for good service at fair prices.

It was 1 car ahead of me and when that car was done they let another car go ahead of me. I never leave reviews but this shop is first come first serve basis and what they did was extremely unprofessional.

Sean MacInnes Urban Classics provides a high level of professionalism and work into what they do and they certainly charge for it. I really appreciated the level of communication, the clear explanations provided to me and the transparency when discussing what needed to be repaired with my vehicle. While I got some repair work done by them, I wasn’t willing to do everything because of their very high prices. I needed my rear brakes replaced and was able to find a different repair shop that was able to perform the same work for half the price of what Urban Classics was quoting. I totally understand they have a big team of professionals to pay and their work is certainly of high quality. My recommendation is to do research into other mechanics first if you know what the problem is before coming here as nice as they may be.

Jesse Pesta David is quite simply the best. Ive known him for decades and I cant say enough good. Davids figured out some seriously messy and weird problems with two cars Ive had, and both vehicles were pretty old and unusual. A few weeks ago he worked a bit of magic on a 26 year old Miata, and not the first time. Plus hes a lot of fun to talk to, about cars of course but also everything. Big thanks to David. And to anyone else reading this I say, you can trust him and his team to be straight shooters and stand by what they do.

Ivan Abreu Professional establishment with amazing communication. Certainly worth every cent, I’ll be sure to refer to them and bring all of my vehicles to them. Ask for Bill, he’ll be sure to take good care of you. Hard to find honest and transparent mechanics. They went above and beyond and did the little things that make doing business with them worthwhile. I’m happy I’ve found this location.

Erin Santana These guys are always straight forward about what is going on with my beloved Mini and the relative urgency of various repairs. As someone who knows little about cars and doesn’t always have a lot of cash to spend on maintenance, I have continued going to L & M even after moving away from the neighborhood because I know and trust them. They are not the cheapest, but every time I take my car to a cheaper shop they don’t know Mini’s and do a cheap job. L & M does quality work and tries to work within my budget as much as possible. I highly recommend them if you have a European car.

Luis Garcia I got my rotors and brake pads repaired here on a Kia. First time service was great. I had my check engine light come on my F150 and took it to this same shop. I was told that I needed to change out the purge valve so I did and the check engine would not go away. Then I was told to change another piece that I special ordered at the dealership and I tried to come back to get my truck fixed. After numerous attempts I kept being told that the shop was busy. I lost patience and went to another mechanic. Come to find out I DIDNT HAVE TO CHANGE OUT ANYTHING IN THE TRUCK. The whole time it was a wiring issue. The wires were sitting on the exhaust causing the wires to strip and this is why my check engine kept coming on. What a giant waste of time and money!!

Andre Burrell Really wanted to rate this place higher, but there’ve been too many bad experiences. I’ve been coming here for over 7 months for jobs of varying sizes, mostly dealing with Andy. Unfortunately, the quality of work just isn’t good. They’re not detail-oriented enough, and I don’t think they’re equipped to handle newer, more complex cars. There always seems to be some issue. You go in for something simple and leave with new problems. I recommended a friend here—he had the same experience. For example, I once had them install TPMS sensors, and they forgot to program them, making them useless. The main issue started two months ago with a misfire on my 2013 Lexus GS450h. Before any real diagnosis, I was told I needed fuel injectors, then suddenly ignition coils. Neither were the problem—I wasted time buying and refunding both. The actual issue was low compression on one cylinder. I opted to replace the engine, which was when things got much worse. I sourced a used engine, but the wrong one was delivered. Their lead mechanic accepted it without verifying, which led to a nightmare month of trying to get a refund while my old engine had already been removed—leaving me without a car the entire time. Eventually, I got a correct engine delivered and asked them to swap the wiper motor while the bay was clear. I bought the part myself and handed it over. After the engine swap, I picked up the car—only to immediately find the power steering didn’t work. Had to leave it again. Over the next week, more issues: check engine light, no horn or steering wheel controls, and now faulty O2 sensors. I also found out the wiper motor was never actually swapped, despite Andy saying it was. He later admitted he was given the wrong info, which made me question what else was missed. Was anything else skipped during the engine swap? Eventually I had to buy a new clock spring. Andy initially tried to install a cheap Chinese one—I told him that wasn’t acceptable. To his credit, he took the $500 hit and bought OEM. When it was time to install the clock spring and O2 sensors, I joked, “Please don’t turn this 1-day job into another week.” I had no idea how accurate that would be. After installation, my car wouldnt start—it couldn’t go into park due to a faulty neutral relay switch. I found the part myself, sent a photo, and Andy confirmed it was correct. It wasn’t. That mistake cost another two weeks of refunds and shipping the right part. Finally got the car back—30 minutes after I drove off, check engine light. Two days later, “Check Hybrid System” light with beeping indicating a critical issue. It’s now been over 2 months and the car still isn’t driveable. I’ve lost over 2 months of income because I can’t do my delivery job. Despite all this, Andy is a nice guy. I have nothing against him personally—but I can’t trust him with repairs again. Other issues I witnessed: Poor reinstall of body panels Loud scraping noise after pickup which they didnt check for. Engine bay covers left loose Broke wheel locks and replaced with rusted or missing nuts. Had to buy a new set. Volume knob damaged during engine swap (still unfixed) Door creaks now— he claimed to “fix” with WD-40 (what?) One of his guys leaning full weight on my bumper during oil change No towels to protect paint while working Horrible communication; omitting relevant details, forgetting to call with updates, forgetting to send or take photos when requested, making false promises, not telling the full story when something goes wrong, trying to blame others, etc. I had to second guess and double check everything he told me because I could no longer trust him. I even witnessed another customer leave with a fresh engine swap, only to call back minutes later about a warning light. Andy brushed it off and told him to come back tomorrow. Why give a customer a car with a light on in the first place? Bottom line: their quality control is lacking, miscommunication is constant, and the work just isn’t reliable. I wouldn’t recommend them for big or small jobs.
