M C Joe and Dustin at Cole’s Muffler were super friendly and helpful. I had a nail in my tire, and after calling around with no luck, they got me in within minutes and patched it for free. Took them less than 30 minutes from dial to fix!! Highly recommend!

Erik Jones Incredibly fast and friendly! My wife and I are in Ithaca on a trip from Akron. We had a slow tire leak and made an appointment to see if we needed to replace the tire or if it could be repaired. Ken and his crew got us in right away, quickly found the culprit (a small screw in the tire) and got it patched up in under 10 minutes. And they didn’t even charge me!!!!! If we didn’t live in Akron, this would be our regular spot for repairs. Thanks so much to Ken and the crew at Cole/Mavis for saving our trip.

Abby They recently changed oil, rotated tires, checked brakes, etc, but in the past they’ve changed out my battery & installed new tires. I find this crew to be great to work with. Knowledgeable, professional staff, great service, good prices. I will continue to use them.

Edd Schneider This is the best car service place in Ithaca. I have been a customer for nearly 10 years with four different vehicles. If anyone has a problem with this place, it’s not this place. They responded quick online and then got my truck in as soon as I made it to their shop. Also one of the few shops ive found willing to install 37s. Good price. Welcoming people. Mike Gilbert I needed my spare tire pressure sensor activated. Maguire Subaru wanted $119 to perform the service. Rather than pay that exorbitant rate, I bought a $15 tool and did the job myself in 30 seconds.

Thomas Everest Was wary about going to a dealership for service, and definitely wont be going back. Was charged for double the amount of labor (which at $190/hr seems pricey), and they didnt believe my wife when she told them. Had to call and come back in person before they double checked. Not even sure they refunded it properly. Also, if you ask for them to be done by a certain time, they wont be. Thats just the time theyll call you to tell you when theyll actually work on it. And they will try to charge you for things you didnt ask for. I only caught this by asking for an itemized list. Only reason they get two stars is because the shuttle service is nice and Jeff is very friendly.

Devyn Barry Always been treated well, fairly, the work is done on schedule, they work on my old dirty banged up Volvo, and they even help me with dumb questions I have on the phone. Knowledgeable, friendly, experienced mechanics. They dont try to upcharge you for extra work, but will tell you what your car needs. Thankful to have these guys around to trust with my vehicle. Have been a customer for nearly 10 years and will continue to be for life at this rate (as long as I own a Volvo).

Josh L I wrote an earlier review discussing the problems I have with a rather expensive bill I incurred when getting transmission coolant lines replaced. The original review was negative, but the owner of Bell’s Auto followed up with me the next day to make things right. He ended up correcting parts of the bill, which saved me a significant amount. I genuinely appreciated that he followed up. It was clear he took the time to learn about my vehicle, the maintenance that was done, and the problems in the billing. This experience greatly increased my confidence with Bell’s Auto, which is why I am editing this review. I’m not out to blame people for an honest mistake, and I am glad the situation could be resolved. I appreciate the owner’s diligence and I have confidence that he runs an honest business.

Mandy Albert I will never take my car anywhere else. Diane and her staff are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and will listen to what you say about your car. They wont try to pressure you into extra repairs or adjustments unless you say you want them. Great location and eminently reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Morgan Lemke For several years now Shade Tree Auto has worked on my Cadillac CTS-V. I am only in Ithaca part time, and they have always worked around my schedule. They are extremely friendly, I have always found their prices more than fair, and when a little thing comes up they often do it for free. And they have just the cutest dogs!

Sandy Edmondson My husband said the girls at the service desk were awesome. Oil change and recall check was done. We will NEVER have them wash our vehicle again however because when we bought it they scratched it, took it to be fixed-wasnt fixed. My husband took it again and another scratch was made, he took it back again and only the newer scratch was fixed. Will NEVER buy another vehicle from your company again. It saddens me because I thought we found a place we could go back to for future vehicles. Our salesman and the rest of the sales staff was great at time of purchase. Easiest and the most stress free vehicle purchase weve ever had.

Andrea W This was my first experience at this dealership for a diagnostic service. The parts weren’t available so I didn’t have the repairs done there so I can’t speak to their work in that regard, except for a part of the backseat console that had fallen out that I asked to have properly reinstalled. It looked ok but promptly fell back out on the ride home. The car was supposed to be washed and vacuumed which it was not and it had a strong food odor inside that was not there when I pulled it in. I was highly disappointed even after a follow up phone call to the service manager. Usually I have good experience at Lincoln dealerships. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this particular one.

Trish Larter We had the most enjoyable car buying experience at Maguire on 5/24/25 with Mark Leonard. Normally I loathe buying a new car, mostly because sales people have made me feel like a burden or a chore. Mark was a breath of fresh air from the moment we walked in. He was so kind and genuine. We never felt like we were being sold, we felt listened to and he advocated for us big time. We drove an hour and 40 minutes and drove home in the car of our dreams! If you go to Maguire, be sure to ask for Mark!

Veronica Velez This is my second Maguire vehicle. This time I drove 3 hours to Grand Island to buy a Hyundai Venue. I filled my application for my loan on line Jason called me on the way and by the time I arrived he had me approved and ready. My sales agent Andre was super friendly. I felt like my son was selling me a car. They were both kind enough to stay after closing hours so I didn’t have go back another day to pick up my car. I thought that was Champagne service. DinaMarie Delias I called several shops after I got a flat tire, and Midas was the only one that could accommodate me at such a short notice. I had already asked for quotes for the service my car needed (from other shops) and their price was pretty much the same so I felt comfortable going there. I appreciated how polite and helpful Tyler was and how he didn’t try to sell me any add-ons, while also reminding me about my car inspection deadline. Cody took care of my tire (thanks for that), they did the inspection, and I was the one who requested an oil change- all done in just a little over an hour. It also helped that they have a comfortable waiting area where my daughter and I could wait comfortably. I would go back to Midas, certainly!

Colin Stevenson I recently had a disappointing experience with Midas Tire. After bringing my vehicle in, I was presented with a lengthy list of issues they claimed required immediate attention, totaling over $2,300 in repairs. Wanting a second opinion, I took my car to another reputable shop. There, the mechanics informed me that only a few minor repairs were necessary and completed the work for approximately $600. They also expressed surprise at the extensive and unnecessary recommendations made by Midas—especially since my tires and brakes were in excellent condition. It’s deeply concerning to think that Midas may be pressuring customers into costly and unwarranted repairs. This experience has left me questioning their integrity and approach to customer care.

M Kay While on vacation our family SUV died. The mechanic arrived quickly, did testing and diagnostics, and was able to resolve our problem (dead battery), and got us back up and running in no time! I would highly recommend his services to anyone with car issues.

Ronnie Munson My van kept stalling at stop signs. Mechanic came out and figured out the idle air control valve was sticking. Cleaned it up and adjusted it, runs smooth now.

Joshua Greenberg GO ANYWHERE ELSE EXCEPT HERE! We came to do repairs on a muffler and brake pads, and ended up with a nightmare scenario. The Monro corporate office has gone above and beyond to provide awful customer service. This tire center installed a faulty tire rotor, which almost immediately proceeded to explode in a way that the mechanics said they had "never seen in all their years of work." We brought the car back in, they replaced the tire rotors, and when we asked if they knew how it happened or if they used a different lot to ensure quality they told us they had NO IDEA!! We asked for a refund to get the car repaired elsewhere, they agreed in the store, and then proceeded to delay, claim we do not have the proper paperwork, and otherwise make it appear that we were somehow at fault. This has taken several MONTHS of attempting to get a hold of customer service and have them respond to our refund request. I cannot believe a business like this can continue to operate in Ithaca.

Kailee Giroux Travis is absolutely amazing! I recommend him and brake away to anyone who needs help when it comes to brakes/rotors or just any car issue that they can do! His customer service is amazing and he’s beyond helpful. Can’t beat the prices either, unlike shops this place isn’t out to take your money. I will be going back to them whenever I need something done. He came right to me and went above and beyond to help me fix the issue at hand.
