5 /5 Crystal Wolfe: This Nature Center is absolutely gorgeous! The woods there are beautiful. They have a live turtle named Fern and lots of birds to view. Their gift shop is nice and they have a great winter Market once a month. Come check it out!

4 /5 Nicole Gabriel: They have ample parking. The have maps you can take on the trail board when you pull up. Also have large porta potties available in front of parking lot. They have information on various programs they offer at the park. The trails are clearly marked. Which is nice for less experienced hikers so you dont get confused. Wasnt sure what all the wood stuff was supposed to be on the rabbit trail. They have some flowers planted in different areas. Along with different benches to sit down on. Overall it was ok. We did the squirrel and rabbit trail. The squirrel trail goes down and up hill. They have varying fungi growing aswell. These are all no dogs allowed trails.

5 /5 Suzy Allman: A great location for birding, with a number of interesting, well-kept trails through several habitat types. Birds today included several colorful warblers, indigo buntings up close, towhees, pileated woodpecker, parula and wood thrush. The wildflowers are no less diverse; it’s great to see a forest floor not overrun with barberry, or cleaned out by deer. A peaceful, well-managed and interesting place.

Franklin Square Park - Syracuse

Dan Marafino: One of the nicest areas of the city. Plan on competing with wedding shoots and prom shoots in their respective seasons on the weekends. Theres a very small piece of paper on the edge of the park that will tell you when its rented out. Nice place to relax and read a book or just hang out. Safe area, coffee shop right across the street, and plenty of seating.

Ny State fair - Syracuse

Miriam Rose: I enjoyed the fair a lot this year. The dinosaur exhibit was so fun to take my son to. The food didn’t disappoint at the eatery as well. My one suggestion is to park in parking lots or get a ride because the shuttles have long lines and with traffic, you can be waiting awhile to leave the fair. Luckily this year we got a ride to and from the fair.

Three Falls Woods - Manlius

Chan Komagan: Located in Dewitt/Manlius outside Syracuse, three falls woods is a good place for some hiking and connecting with nature. When you get to the intersection you take a right and walk all the way up to the top passing a few waterfalls (they are not that big) and you can loop around and come back to the bottom. The whole hike can be done in 30 minutes.

Long Branch Park - Liverpool

Donny B: Neat park venue that I used to go sledding at when I was a kid. Lots of neat events like Bavarian Fest, and the Scottish Games I have gone to for many years. A quiet place for a walk and a picnic here as well with their pavilions and fireplaces.

Westminster Park - Syracuse

Prose the Writer: My fiancee and I found this set of steps and have committed to getting in shape together utilizing them. The are 8 flights of 18-25 steps each. The area is shaded by trees and very serene. Upon reaching the top, one can celebrated and take a victory lap around the circle before heading back down. I would caution potential users to be cognizant of their footing as some stairs are broken and debris falls on them as well.

Stephanie Crain: The museum is amazing, but the Come in from the Cold exhibit warmed my heart. I just loved this exhibit, it was everything I was hoping for when I saw it advertised! Great job with the displays, the accompanying photos and historical information! Loved this. So many great displays there to see but this was one I am glad I didnt miss!

Community Folk Art Center - Syracuse

Emad Rahim: A true gem in Syracuse. The first and only Black art gallery, which is also in partnership with Syracuse University (location off campus). Open to the community showing art by minority artists from all over the country. They also provide free after-school programs in music, dance, theater, art, and summer camps. The gallery is also used as an event space for community programs, student clubs, black box threater shows, and many more. Stop by and support history.
