5 /5 Jessie Lynn: I came here not long ago, first of MANY visits and EVERY single time I’m more than pleased. The staff is indescribable. You go anywhere else on this island and no staff will or could ever compare to the girls at blown. No cattiness like most salons, you walk in and feel welcomed instantly. Such a warm environment. As far as prices go, if you’re looking for a place to go that won’t break your pocket, this is the place to go. Prices are sky high now a days especially at hair salons and I can’t believe how reasonable every service is at blown. I’ve been to every stylist since coming here. Brianna, melissa, Brittany, Jess and ash are all so enjoyable to be around. The manager is always so kind and greets me and always offers me coffee. Whenever I sit in any of their chairs I almost feel like I’m over a friends house because that’s how comfortable cozy and fun it is there. All in all a GREAT spot to have any kind of hair or makeup service, not to mention they’re even open on Mondays! So great 10/10 highly recommend.

1 /5 carly cogan: I got a haircut here and loved the cut. I referred my mom and all I can say is WOW. She went for a haircut and booked with someone and ended up not even getting the person she booked with. The person who cut her hair didn’t even make it look like she got a haircut. She had to go back again for another cut. She went back for color (don’t even know why should would after all of that) and gave them the benefit of the doubt, paid for a whole head of highlights to come back with an orange head of highlights. My mom has been a blonde her whole life and said she uses the heater anytime she gets highlights and the hairdresser and owner both wouldn’t listen. In result, she came home with orange hair. She went back a week later to get it fixed and it still doesn’t even look like she got her hair done. Absolutely ridiculous. You think you pay all this money to get ur hair done and you walk out with something you didn’t even want because no one was listening to what she wanted. I’ve been doing my hair the past 7 years on and off and never seen such a shit show. The hairdressers are good for haircuts would NOT recommend this place if you just want basic highlights. They couldn’t even dye the grey’s my mom had I had to show them where they needed to put color. It looks like she has a single process on top and somewhat of highlights on the bottom. What a shit show is all I can say. This is why you need to stick to manhattan salons and high end places with colorist’s who know what they’re doing. Very upsetting experience. And what a waste of money is all I can say.

5 /5 Arianne Castillo: I called for a last minute appointment and they were able to squeeze me in before closing! I asked for a layered haircut (blow and dry). Melissa did a great job and she was very gentle with my hair! Super friendly and kind. Gave me exactly what I asked for. Would def come back again!

1 /5 Sara T: I never usually write a bad review but feel like this needs to be warned because I’m still in pain. The overall place seemed calm & friendly, I’m not complaining on anything further. I had Melissa do my hair, just a root touch up. Which parting my hair to dye it she was extremely rough and stabbing my head while parting and roughly applying dye. I didn’t say anything because I gave benefit that some part are unknowingly heavy handed. Then going to wash my hair, puts on extremely hot water that irritated my head, after I asked to change the water, she did and proceeded to pull my hair vigorously to put conditioner in it. When your hair is clean it hurts more when pulling & parting. The third step was blow drying, I’ve never had my hair tugged on so bad with so many processes it’s 3 days later and my head is sore. To keep my brow dried curls in place she left the round brush in my hair (which is fine) but pushed down into my scalp as if it’ll keep the curls any better… she could’ve just left the brush or held it in her hand, not into my scalp. I tried so hard not to complain, now I wish I have because I can not style my hair or wash it because it’s burning still… I have my boyfriend looking into my scalp for scrapes that were found. She was a sweetheart don’t get me wrong, but this place needs to watch how their employees do hair in general or if they are stressed…. Or the owner should be a fake customer just to test their handling. I’m sorry to complain so much but this was not okay at all….. to add on that my hair fell flat by the time I left, hairspray didn’t hold it made my hair look like it had knots and greasy. I paid $7 for a frizz spray that did absolutely nothing. I even left her a tip because I felt bad.. I won’t be returning, I don’t want an issue. My scalp is still red 3 days after.
