5 /5 R C: I parked on Morey Hill Rd I walked for about two and a half hours. Through the quarries and over the broken shatters of bluestone. Lots of wintergreen berries! Highly recommend finding this little treasure for a nice and geologically fascinating wander

4 /5 N Sifre: There are two areas for parking. There are several trails, and one is for biking. You can go fishing, pitch a tent, or hang your hammock. Enjoy.

5 /5 Japheth Wood: Really nice hiking trails, and this park keeps getting larger as parcels of land are added. The beginner yellow loop is a little long for younger kids at 2.7 miles, but it is within reach. Please remember to bring a bag to pick up trash. Its a pack in pack out site, but there is some trash that has been left behind.

4 /5 Pam: Lake is beautiful,fishing good.If you enjoy kayaking or canoeing its great for that,although there is no designated launch area. Trails are a little Rockey if you are even a little challenge bad knees etc. can be a tad difficult.

5 /5 Kenneth Lonas: A wonderful collection of trails for hiking and mountain biking. At some areas it is a bit rocky and should be approached with caution. In my inattention, I have crashed here and left some blood, but it was my inexperience and certainly not the trail. In addition, OSI, Open Space Institute, has recently purchased (2019) a large tract of land adjacent to the Bluestone Forest and will be building more trails to the east. Hopefully there will be a connection to the nearby Jockey Hill trails.

Esopus Bend Nature Preserve - Saugerties

Janet Bunnell: Great little hike with Buddy (an 11 year old dachshund) Just enough challenge without being too challenging or too rocky. Well marked trails, though still ended up getting out on the wrong side of the park. 2.6 miles , 1hr 45 minutes. Long enough to exhaust the dog so i can leave him alone tonight and take in a movie without guilt.

Historic Perrines Covered Bridge - New Paltz

Opus 40 - Saugerties

Izzy P: Visited this place for the first time back in 2023. Spent a few hours wandering the property discovering nooks and crannies and was thoroughly enthralled from the first minute. The dedication, time, effort it must have taken is unbelievable. What an amazing place and journey of how Opus 40 came to be!

Samantha M: Nice lighthouse to kayak by! They offer tours once and a while. Nearly all light houses now are automated. The keeper generation is sadly gone.

A Frosty Fest - Ulster Park

Sara DeLaBruere: First time here and my husband and I were slightly disappointed. We drove through the lights which were pretty good, can’t knock that but only took us about 15 mins to get through the whole display… spending $30+ per person I don’t think is worth it. After the lights they want you to go into the shops and get some hot cocoa and yummy treats… The hot cocoa and cider doughnuts were good, but there were just two gift shops and pictures with Santa ($17) and a small train for the kids to play on while the adults chatted. Just seemed expensive for the maybe hour we were there… we checked the itinerary because we felt like we were missing something…

Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site - Hyde Park

Addison Schmitt: This is an absolute must-see in the Hudson Valley. The grounds are open and free for visitors and tours through the mansion are a modest price. Purchased in the 1940s, all items within the mansion transport you to a different time. Our tour guide was Eric, and was so friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was over an hour and took us through 3 different floors of the estate and multiple rooms. Each floor was unique and preserved in a respectful and tasteful way. I can’t say enough about how special this estate is and the grounds. I highly recommend the garden that is located next to the gardeners house and shed. A beautiful place for photos. Walks about the grounds are beautiful and is a perfect way to start or end the tour. The cost per person is $15 and is very informative. There are handicap accessible options for touring the estate that will allow access to all floors of the mansion.

Old Dutch Church - Kingston

Natalia Hanson: Unique public events are held in and around this church. Burning of Kingston 2024 historical re-enactment was well organized and had staged street fights and a gala ball with dancing lessons and a reception in the church theater.
