2 /5 Emily Klinzing Cirino: Our car broke down in Buffalo and we accidentally had it towed to this shop, thinking it was an Aamco. After seeing positive reviews, we decided to just let them take care of it. We knew the issue was a transmission and when we spoke to them after theyd taken a look, we felt confident they could take care of it. We also asked them to do the brakes while the car was there.
While working on the transmission, they found another issue, which we agreed to have them work on. They called back another time, saying they found another issue with the water pump, but they would take care of it and wouldnt charge us, since we were already giving them a lot of work.
Our car was dropped off on April 25. We called at least once a week to find out the finish date and they continually kept pushing the date back. At one point, someone let it slip that "Were just waiting for the engine parts to be delivered." We had never spoken to anyone about an engine issue. In the course of them fixing our car, they managed to ruin parts of the engine. While they did not charge us for that, I dont think they would have said anything if it hadnt been said on accident.
They FINALLY finished with the vehicle on June 6-- thats six weeks. When we arrived, there were boxes of parts left in our car. We looked at the invoice and it was $700 more than theyd quoted us. They finally agreed to take that off, but when we looked at our bank statement later, there was an additional $700 charge that we did not authorize.
The work itself was fine and we have not had any issues with the things they fixed. The problems were the communication, their non-transparency, the ridiculous amount of time it took for them to complete the job, and over-billing.
