    Heather Ann: I strongly urge folks to avoid Spruce Salon if they value clear communication and kindness from their hair stylist. I saw Paula for a short haircut and am devastated by the results. And I’m just as disappointed by the way Paula handled the situation when I voiced my concerns. The final result of my haircut is completely different than what I requested. I showed Paula a photo of the shape I was aiming for, and asked for my hair to be cut a bit longer than the photo. Unfortunately she cut my hair drastically shorter! Even worse, the back is uneven and looks like it was cut with garden shears. When I expressed my disappointment, Paula told me that I would never be happy and refused to take any responsibility for cutting my hair poorly. She claimed to have followed the photo exactly, but that’s simply not true and I have the photos to show that. I even offered to send her the reference photo again so that she could see how drastically different it was from my final style, but she refused to look at it. Most importantly, she handled my hair poorly and failed to cut my hair in a way that suited its texture. The result is a terrible mess. Paula also seemed very distracted and left me to attend to other clients multiple times during my appointment, so I’m not surprised that this resulted in a horrible haircut. But again there was no receptivity to this concern. Unfortunately I learned that Paula is not a stylist who is interested in receiving honest feedback from her clients, and she was unwilling to acknowledge the issue. This is not a stylist who wants to help her clients, especially after having caused them distress. I feel strongly that customers should be treated with more kindness than this. Paula is clearly uninterested in keeping clients and instead treats them disrespectfully when they voice their concerns. If Paula had handled the situation differently then this would just be a heartbreaking haircut, which is bad enough. But she has lost a client and gained an honest review. (The photo of the brown hair is the reference photo. The other photo is the choppy mess I received.)

    Charlotte Gilbert: I went to Salon M for some highlights. My hair had been dry and had darkened a lot. My Stylist Beatrix was very sweet and talkative, and that’s just beginning. Her talent needs to be studied!! My highlights came out great, I got an amazing blowout afterwards, and to top it off she curled my hair to look for elegant and pretty. Thank you so much Beatrix and Salon M, I will be coming back

    Jennifer Fahey: Split Endz is home to a very professional and talented staff. I live in VA, and I try to time my visits to New York to include a color and cut at Split Endz. Kim is is very creative, and can tailor any look and style to meet the customers needs. I highly recommend going to Split Endz, and I can only rate this salon a five out of five. I do not agree with the review that states that this salon is cheap in price. Their prices are competitive, and yes you do get what you pay for here, and that is a good thing. I hope to be able to get an appointment this month when I visit New York. Please Kim, be available, and fit me into your very busy schedule!!! Jennifer, Alexandria, VA
