1 /5 Veronica Vazquez: I barely ever take the time to write reviews but I have to warn any other cash patients before they waste there time with an appointment here, or worse, feel pressured to pay the crazy prices they try to up charge you on.
I spent time in late February calling several dental offices in the city of Buffalo. Upon calling Dr. Bobs on Main Street, I spoke to a receptionist and told her I’m just looking for a teeth cleaning. She stated if I can provide my X-rays to their email, they would waive the charge for the X-Rays and schedule me for a teeth cleaning. I also told her my X-rays were from 2022 and she confirmed with the dentist on staff that was acceptable.
After some time, I got the X-rays sent to my email and sent them to Dr.Bobs email on March 3rd and called for an appointment.
Today I was seen at 7:50am on April 2nd, signed in , did all the paperwork and was called to the back. The hygienist spoke to me and told me she knew I was a cash patient paying out of pocket. I told her I sent the X-rays over and was quoted $98 for a teeth cleaning. She checked my teeth and proceeded. She asked if what I was paying for covered speaking to a dentist and I told her I wasn’t sure. She went to the front desk to confirm.
After a few moments her and the receptionist that checked me in came to the back and handed me a paper that said I was to pay $450. The receptionist stated that “I didn’t speak to her” the person who spoke to me “was giving incorrect information” that regardless of going through the process of getting an XRay sent that I still had to pay $450!? They both said they didn’t see any X-rays in my chart nor did they even check their email after I provided my information. At that point, I stood up and left out of that chair.
I’m writing this to save another patient from this disaster of a dentist office extreme unprofessionalism, and deception. To be lead to believe one thing and then try to charge me another $360? Absolutely deplorable. Please avoid this money grabbing dentist office if you are a cash patient.
