We called the number and Cheryl was so kind and offered for us to come in and take a look around. She ended up joining us and sharing lots of great history and information about the house! Beautiful place with an even better tour guide!!!
The Knox Mansion - Johnstown Sandy Slone: Seemed cool, seems like a residence, but I didnt buy tickets ahead of time. Very cool please for pictures!
Johnstown Historical Society - Johnstown Peter Urban: Johnstown Historical Society maintains several properties, but the two visited are virtually across the street from one-another. Drumm House was one of the earliest houses in the city, built in the 1760. It house a collection of 18th century household furnishing, as well as a cobblers bench and some military artifacts. Drumm House sits beside a colonial cemetery with several Revolutionary War veterans graves. The museum, across the street, holds primarily 19th century artifacts, including items related to
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the Knox family, and has a military display with artifacts spanning from the War of 1812 all the way through the Vietnam War.
Centennial Park - Batavia Anthony Roberts: Absolutely loved this park! Got a great pic of the moon of the city! Feels very safe in the middle of the neighborhood. Children riding on bikes, couples walking and dog lovers taking their friends out for a stroll. You can see everywhere. Makes it an easy decision if you want to keep walking or turn back. Beautiful sunset also!
Devil’s Rock JW22 - Batavia Kim Lynn: The devils rock, story goes from my time as a kid. The elders caught the devil tied to the rock with a chain. Broke free from constantly running in the circle, now roams earth! Devils rock, cool rock cool story. So the devil did come to Batavia!! Free to see. Just watch out for the devil!
Batavia Downs Gaming - Batavia Paul B: Great atmosphere, awesome food specials , and I actually found a machine that liked me. It was nice seeing Mr Byron Brown socialize with the patrons on the gaming floor. I witnessed him apologize to worker that justed mopped up a floor that he needed to walk over. What a super considerate person in such a high position. It was great to see that from the very top on down everyone that works there really cares about us and each other.
DeWitt Recreation Area - Batavia Cat Lash: One of my favorite places in Batavia. So pretty and nice for walks and bikes rides, especially now that it connects to the Ellicot trail. Decent playground and pavilions. Good place to catch sunfish. The parks department puts on some neat programming here sometimes.
