Children riding on bikes, couples walking and dog lovers taking their friends out for a stroll. You can see everywhere. Makes it an easy decision if you want to keep walking or turn back. Beautiful sunset also!

5 /5 Jenyouwin Shannonagains: What a neat little park! Made to celebrate the NYS school for the blind and the trees are beautiful. If you look around you can see number tags on trees. We found a geocache! The park is the size of a large city block, directly in front of the school for the blind. The 100 year old trees are huge!

Batavia Downs Gaming - Batavia

Paul B: Great atmosphere, awesome food specials , and I actually found a machine that liked me. It was nice seeing Mr Byron Brown socialize with the patrons on the gaming floor. I witnessed him apologize to worker that justed mopped up a floor that he needed to walk over. What a super considerate person in such a high position. It was great to see that from the very top on down everyone that works there really cares about us and each other.

DeWitt Recreation Area - Batavia

Cat Lash: One of my favorite places in Batavia. So pretty and nice for walks and bikes rides, especially now that it connects to the Ellicot trail. Decent playground and pavilions. Good place to catch sunfish. The parks department puts on some neat programming here sometimes.

Palm Island Indoor Waterpark - Batavia

Evelyn Cabantog: I read the reviews and was scared. But its such a great deal. None of the reviews I read were accurate. Our room was clean and spacious. Came with microwave fridge and coffee. Kids had a blast and the place plenty to do. Its best for under 10 years old.

Jessica Bucheister: Lovely park. Fun playground. With mini water park fun for kids in the hot months. Nice places to sit and eat or picnic. Pets are welcome. Just an all around good park. You will have to come visit some time for yourself.

Chris Vallett: I went for a concert tonight of my birthday it was awesome I had a great evening and appreciate all the work that goes into these. Bring your own chair they have food truck there restaurants and alcohol sold around the area.

RamsHorn-Livingston Audubon Sanctuary - Catskill

Bill Maas: I was not sure how this place was going to be for a little hike. I will say it is very nice for a hike. Very well taken care of trail wise. Trails are marked very well. The trails in the woods are under trail clean up as you can see trees that came down, but they are being cut up and removed from the trail. Nice clear path down to the wooded trails very wide and easy walking for you if you have trouble walking. It was very interesting to see the bat houses that were here as well. Its very nice to see how the Boy Scouts have put time into this place. Parking was nice as well. It was also a plus to see a portal outhouse. Also, there is no litter on the ground that I have seen. Plus, there are no dog droppings on the trails as well.

Catskill Mountain House Site -

Nathan June: Accessible through the NYS North/South Lake campground & day use area, it is very accessible to those who have problems hiking long distances & want to get a stellar view. Check out my YouTube video about it!

Mawignack Preserve - Catskill

Emily Crimmins: This preserve is a collaboration with Greene Land Trust and Scenic Hudson. For a brand new trail(opened last month,) I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. First things first: getting there: google maps was way off on where this was far as when it was giving me directions. Snake Road veers off to the left of West Main as you’re heading to Jefferson Heights. Snake Road is aptly named because it is narrow and serpentine. You’ll see the trail sign and a parking area to the right. The first thing I noticed was when I started the trail, I could see houses and hear loud music and talking. Not a great start. It did finally recede. The trail in places was very overgrown with only a narrow track in the middle of waist high grass. Anyone in tick areas knows this isn’t great. Be careful with your footing here because I nearly stepped on a snake and a turtle. The red flares are placed frequently. The only confusing part was near the riverfront views. It seemed a trail went off to the left but no flares and private property signs so I guess not. The forest trails were wide and clear. This is a mile loop trail. So, okay, but I definitely think the grass trails could be better mown/maintained.

Thomas Cole National Historic Site - Catskill

Ashby Landon (pure mahem): I arrived here 5 minutes after they closed. Considering I also came back when they were open to collect my National Park Passport Cancellation Stamp, I prefer my timing. This was awesome to explore, and I had the grounds to myself. I found the staff to be helpful but they were a bit cold. Typical for an Art Gallery,not so much for a National Park. I dont know if youd have all that much better of a time if you bought a ticket to tour the houses and out buildings. The true treasure is the property and landscape, which was the focus of Thomas Coles Landscape Art.
