5 /5 Michelle Lc: Great views of the water. I was lucky enough to come when the water was very high after a storm. Its a good place to see birds flying back and forth, mainly seagulls and an egret. Theres beautiful foliage on either side. There is also a steep set of stairs you can go down to get closer but it ends abruptly and the view isnt as nice as from higher up. Would be a wonderful place to just see the sky changing colors. There are educational boards on local history here too.

4 /5 Ryan Mazierski: Falls View Park offers visitors scenic views of the Cohoes Falls. The park is four acres and has an upper and lower viewing areas. To get to the viewing areas you have to cross a 192 foot pedestrian bridge. The park is well kept and neat. There is a parking lot located across the street from the park. The falls are spectacular. The top half the park gives you a nice views of the falls from above. The lower half park gives you a nice view from down below. To get to the lower half follow the staircase down. Though both views are nice, there are some trees that obscure the views. To get a great picture from the lower half you have half to hold your camera up over a chain-link fence and the trees behind it. It would be nice if a viewing platform was added to the park of the park to get a clear view of the falls. Some trees also get in the way on the upper viewing area as well. Cohoes Falls is the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi River and is a must see in the Capital Region. The park is easy to access and it is easy to spend a few hours at the falls.

4 /5 Theresa St. John: I was just out for a drive when I found this little park. It wasnt open, I could only see from the parking lot area. Its a pretty place to sit for a while, interesting information about the Erie Canal and the falls. Looks like it is opened for just a few weeks, but still a nice place to see.

5 /5 K Lee: Worth stopping by if youre in the area. Its a fairly quick walk although there are stairs involved. The stairs are not steep and are easy to navigate but are in one go with no levels to stop at. Completely doable for most, but not accessible for those with mobility issues.

Z: Nice huge park with lots of picnic area and restrooms. Well maintained lawn and hiking trails. Overlook area is on the way to visitor center. A few playgrounds including mini zip-lining for children. Ice cream truck also presents on the weekends. It can get very crowded but there are plenty of space except if you want to use grill and picnic area then reservation ahead of time is highly recommended

Bronx Zoo - Bronx

LL: I recently visited the zoo for the first time and had an amazing experience! I went on a Wednesday, which is their free admission day—a huge bonus. The process to get in was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised by how large and well-kept the grounds were. I spent about 3 to 4 hours exploring and could’ve easily stayed longer. The animals looked well cared for, and there were plenty of exhibits to enjoy—from big cats and bears to birds, reptiles, and aquatic life. One thing I really appreciated was how family-friendly the zoo felt. There were lots of shaded areas, benches, and open spaces to rest or take photos. The staff was also friendly and helpful, and even though it was a free day, the park never felt overcrowded. Pro tip: definitely bring your own lunch! There are designated picnic areas and plenty of space to sit and eat. Food prices inside are typical for a tourist spot (a bit high), so packing a meal is a smart move. Another great thing—bags aren’t checked, so you can bring snacks, drinks, or even a small cooler with no problem. All in all, I had a great time and would absolutely go again. Whether you’re going with kids, friends, or solo, there’s something for everyone. Free Wednesdays are such a great opportunity to enjoy a day out without spending a lot of money. Highly recommend planning a visit!

Wave Hill Public Garden & Cultural Center - Bronx

Jakob W. Plummer: An incredible and beautiful way to spend a day, just a stones throw from most spots in NYC. (A couple stops on metro north for roughly the same price as a subway ride) The gardens are well kept and the crowds are not a thing. Quiet and peaceful walks through the conservatory or art instillations. It’s all really so lovely and an under appreciated adventure compared to similar gardens and cultural centers around.

New York Botanical Garden - Bronx

Nikitriy: Lovely, partly peaceful place. I give it five stars even though I think that Brooklyn Botanical Garden is better. Its a pretty big botanical garden, but I was expecting much more flowers and plants. My favorite part is the rose garden, its magnificent! The garden has a lack of food places( ice cream, water for example). The restrooms are clean( its kind of rare in NY). The library there is stunning, such a beautiful architectural building. In general, amazing place for everyone who loves nature and beauty.

Pelham Bay Park - Bronx

JonPaul Niang: If you thought Central Park was big, you need to come to this park immediately. With a large track and field area that puts Soundview Parks to shame, easy accessibility from the 6 train, free parking, a bunch of pathways to walk along and enjoy the sights (especially now that its Autumn), a few nice statues to look at, a big playground, a number of different sports courts, and a bunch of areas to sit down and have a barbecue with your family and friends. Great views of the water and city skyline as well, especially a bit closer to nighttime. You cant even see all of the park in one day unless you wanna challenge yourself. Not only that, I felt very safe during my walk through the park, and others that Ive encountered have been quite friendly. 10/10 park and highly recommend it.
