5 /5 Gabriella Costello: If I could give this office more than 5 stars I would. Dr. MacGregor and his whole staff are such wonderful people. I had such a wonderful experience here getting my 4 WISDOM TEETH REMOVED. Dr. MacGregor is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. Any concerns you have or specific needs can be addressed at the consultation. Something I really love about this office is how they allow a parent or guardian to be with you until they are ready to start your procedure. I’m going to explain my experience/the process if you all wish to continue reading. Please see *** for a little about the procedure. It is better if Dr. MacGregor explains it.
First I had to send my panoramic x-ray and Dentist referral. Then you can make an appointment for a consultation. Please plan ahead, it is 2 MONTHS booking out. Next they will send patient paperwork to fill out. I believe I sent mine electronically, or you could by mail. This office is very easy to get a hold of, very good communication.
The office is very clean, nice building. The whole staff is very kind and supportive. They explained the price after my consultation very well. I must mention I do not have insurance. This is my opinion/experience: You want to schedule a surgical date that you can take off ONE WEEK, You will need time to heal after your surgery. I was very tired by the end of the week.
*Dr. MacGregor is so wonderful and explains everything thoroughly. He takes the time for his patients and there is just no one like him. He really cares about his patients. He thoroughly explained each tooth to me, and why they should come out. I found it really interesting and it helped me feel less anxious and better understand my dental health. He also explained the procedure and what to expect.
I had such severe anxiety Dr. MacGregor was kind enough to speak with my Doctor and come up with a plan to help me. I just had to fill out 2 release forms, one with him, one with my Doctor, so that I gave them permission to speak to each other. I don’t think most would do this, Dr. MacGregor went above and beyond.
I was able to schedule my surgery one week later. Once your surgery is scheduled, they give you before care instructions. Ask Dr. MacGregor about your specific needs. I took my last drink at 11:00 p.m. **TIP: On the day of the surgery, I took a cup of water, and rinsed my mouth, to wet my mouth so that way I would not feel thirsty or have dry throat before my procedure.
Once you arrive at the office, you will have to fill out last minute paperwork, just giving them permission to operate on you. PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHAPERONE READ IT WITH YOU. I was expecting wording that would derail my anxiety, so I just tried to ignore it. The procedure is very safe. It is just for legal purposes. Anything regarding the procedure was not for me to worry about, it is only for Dr. MacGregor to worry about. I was just there to take a nap.
***The wisdom teeth procedure itself, there’s nothing to it. I’d recommend asking for laughing gas at your consultation. It helped distract me before my procedure. Everyone was so kind to me. One of the nurses even held my hand. You fall asleep so fast, it must have been under 10 seconds. You don’t even notice, and by the time it’s done you are waking up. Everyone is very experienced, I didn’t even have bruising from the IV. It just feels like a poke in your left arm. The monitors, it’s almost like when you go to the Dr., blood pressure monitor, etc. The last monitor they attach, the beeping is so mellow it sounds like you’re at the grocery store and your items are being scanned. After your procedure, the nurse even asks if you would like some water, take the water and re-hydrate.
Aftercare: They give you instructions. Make sure you have Ibuprofen, and extra gauze. First and second day are the worst. After one week you will feel so much better. They gave me liquid antibiotic Amoxicillin. I am very happy that a liquid form was available. Then there is just the follow up appointment.
I am so thankful for everyone and I highly recommend this office.
